UPDATED: NOV 21, 2021 Bottle at home, 20th November 2021. Pours a chestnut brown. Aroma is caramel and malts, nutty. Taste is smooth, light chocolate and caramel, malts and good depth. Nice one

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2021 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the Hereford Beer House. Pours clear, rich brown with a foamy, light khaki head. Light-medium sweet flavour with rich, fresh brown bread, nips of caramel, a few leaves, toasted grains. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Balanced finish, more hearty bready malts, brown bread especially, a little toasted caramel, earth, biscuits. This stuff really delivers.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2021 Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Clear copper, medium tan head. Bready and nutty malt with some caramelly aromas. Semi dry, low to medium bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2021 Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Clear brown with moderate sized beige head. Aroma of metal, caramel, raisins. Taste again has that metallic note with light roast, caramel, chocolate, raisins, modest bitterness. Smooth body, soft light zingy carbonation.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2021 11.2 ounce bottle - $2.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Dispensed an amber-brown body, clear, with a tight, ivory-hued head. Smell: Lightly toasted malts given a sweet glaze of caramel. Softly fruity. Modest German hops with an earthy, herbal hint. Taste: Toasted, bready malts with a tangy, twangy touch of fruitiness. Distinct, semi-sweet caramel note. Herbal, lightly spicy hop character with a mild amount of imparted bitterness. Scantly drying, lightly nutty finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Fine, forgettable. Shame on Ayinger and their Altbairisch Dunkel for ruining me when it comes to other dunkels.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2021 Schön röstig-malziges Dunkel. In der Nase etwas schwach, im Trunk aber herrlich brotig, lecker Ding! Optisch auch schön anzusehen.
