UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 On tap. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of tartness, pale malts, light hops. Flavor the same with a nice crisp sourness. A good beer for this style but a little too light in flavor.

Brigadier (4590) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 8, 2019 On tap in Louisville, KY About halfway through a flight of six samples at Hopcat I came across this very middle of the road kettle sour. It does everything it should but in the end fails to impress enough to have deserved a full pint. Given the choice in the future I will stick to West Sixth's IPAs instead. AROMA / APPEARANCE Saltines and lemon butter tickle the nose with a cool texture that melts like warm ice cream on a sunny day. The rose gold body inspires some interest but is generally average at best. FLAVOR / PALATE Cool lemon slices chilled in the fridge mingle with wheat crackers. The undercurrent of citrus carries into the tart ephemeral finish. There are few frills here; this is much more a basic and to the point sour. If you want to drink local pick up some but I would recommend exploring the local Kentucky Common style instead.

Sampled at the SEC Craft Beer Fest in CoMo. A tart version with no syrup and as that fades I get wheat and light fruit. Earth and oil. Not a favored style.

Post GBBF tasting at ChrisOs. Can. Slight haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and dry and minerally crisp. Light tartness, some mild lemon tartness. Little generic fruits. Light tart crisp finish. Amusing but slightly acid.

On tap. Pours a clear light orange with hardly any head. Aroma of sour fruits, diaper, funk, hay. Flavor of tart fruit, sour malt, funk. Quite sour/funky. Light though and still fairly drinkable. A bit funkier than I expect from a Berliner. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Dogbrick (17956) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 12, 2017
This brew is a hazy bright yellow color with a medium thin white head that recedes steadily to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of tart citrus, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of lemon, floral yeast and doughy malt. The finish is moderately tart and wheaty with a lemony aftertaste. Decent overall.

shrubber85 (13675) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - APR 2, 2017
Can. Butter, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with minimal head. Sweet-tart buttery lemon biscuit malt and mildly bitter straw flavor. Okay body.
