DraftDodger (5615) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 21, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 21, 2019 Copenhagen 21/12 2019. 33 cl bottle from Køl Beer Web-shop. Drawing of black sheep having a smoke while more conventional white sheep is roaming in the background. They do declare that this is a “product of Belgium” As the beer is brewed and tapped on contract in Brouwerij Anders in Belgium. Pours opaque dark brown with a light beige head. Settles as flimsy, thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Very moderate lacing. Aroma is intense, a bit candy-like but with a fine balance to distinct coffee bitterness. Brown sugar, vanilla, milk chocolate. Sourish grains. Notes of bitter coffee. Medium carbonation. Medium thick, fat, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a slightly stronger sourish bitterness. Aftertaste sweet but with a notable bitterness lurking in the background. Pretty light and elegant imperial stout. Well balanced and fairly light on the alcohol when I take the ABV into account.

The aroma is malty with notes of caramel, roasted malts, dried fruits, cacao, light chocolate and some spices. The taste is full bodied and starts sweet with caramel and roasted malts and goes to bitter with cacao, coffee, chocolate and spices. The finish is dry and with a long staying bitterness.
