I keep telling people that the English Brown Ale style is one of my favourite styles, but sadly, North American brewers tend to go for an over-hopped undermalted version of the style. This however is one of the better attempts. A nice clear brown pour, the aroma is undoubtedly nuts and caramel. The flavour is slightly sweet with hints of both, but again, too much hops in the finish.

Taste of coffee, dark roasted malt, sweet chocolate, nuts and caramel. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle with Butters. Pours a light tan head with and amber body that has some ruby to it. Smells of molasses and some brown sugar. Tastes like burnt sugar and nut skin. Likke bitter and nutty on the finish.

12 oz bottle purchased from Woody’s in Cool Springs. Poured a hazy brown/amber color with a half finger of tan head. The aroma was sweet malt with faint notes of molasses and brown sugar. The flavor was somewhat weak, with caramel and toast dominating. This was a weak offering. I didn’t get a lot of nuts in the flavor.
