COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ben Gleason has been growing organic wheat for twenty eight years at his farm in Bridport, Vermont, just ten miles from our brewery. Our brewers have combined Ben’s organic raw wheat, organic rolled oats, and organic 2-row malted barley. The resulting golden brew is then mildly spiced with organic coriander and orange peel and fermented with an authentic Belgian yeast to create this complex and refreshing white ale. A fitting salute to Ben Gleason. Available in 6 pks, cases, and draft for the summer.

6/23/2010: Wolaver’s Certified Organic Ben Glason’s Organic White Ale... Aroma: Predominently orange and corriander with some musty yeastiness. Appearance: Hazy pale lemon color; average head of white foam. Flavor: Wheat malt with justa tinge of citrus character; slightly bitter; corriander-spiced finish. Palate: Light; well-carbonated. Overall: Refreshing; good flavor profile; average Wit overall, but organic is always a good thing!

Sample from 12 fl. oz. bottle (4.6% ABV) at Marty’s Hops and Vines in North College Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio). Rating #50 for this beer.

Bottle. Clean golden pour with white head. Flavor is a bit stale, clove spice, a touch of banana. Beer is probably just a bit past ripe. Aroma doesn’t deteriorate as much as flavor.

12 oz bottle frm Bert’s Better Beers. Light yellow poor, translucent. you can see the spices floating around in the glass. Mild to Medium carbonation. Solid, coriander and wheat nose. A very light easy to drink Wit. Very light bodied, has quite a bit of drinkability. A sweetness up front. A very smooth easy drinker. Would buy anytime.

This witbear poured a light yellow colour with a rocky, bright white head that was gone in minutes. Slightly cloudy with scents of weiners, cloves, citrus and earthy dough. First swig was very thin with strong clove flavours. Other flavours of dough and a small amount of hop flavour. Finish is cloves and dough maybe with another spice in there? Finish has a very light bitter hop flavour thats almost unseen.

This white left me wanting a little more. Had a harsh bite and bitter flavor at first, but turned out ok by the half way point. Overall glad I tried it, but tried something else next without regret.

Palette: Le corps est moyen et la texture est légèrement aqueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de zestes d’oranges en arrière goût. (Rating #3175)

Pours a one finger white head that fades quickly leaving traces of lace. Cloudy amber color, with some yeast left in bottle. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Lemon, pepper nose. Flavor is lemon, pepper and yeast. $1.60 for a 12oz bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT.

12oz bottle: Hazy yellow with a thin white head, clove and banana in the aroma, starts and ends lightly bitter, light bodied, crisp ending, bold carbonation, reminds me of oranges.

Slightly minty candi nose, akin to candy valentine hearts. Hazy golden, headless, fine floaties. Wheat malt forward, tart with a coriander finish. Clean, unoffensive.
