Godfather50 (324) - SCOTLAND - MAY 19, 2016Nice dark stout. The black malt lends a rounded coffee flavour to the ale. Simple hopping for restrained bitterness.
MarkoNm (5204) - Novo mesto, SLOVENIA - DEC 7, 2014From the past. Poured a deep black color, topped with a decent tan head. Roasted aroma, some notes of chocolate and coffee. Roasty taste, some sweet notes and caramel, coffee and some bitterness. Very nice.

MissPxx (991) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 11, 2014Subtle aroma. Can't see through it. Very dark black. Nice head. Very flowery taste. Mild but bitter and lingering aftertaste. Wouldn't rush back.

ManVsBeer (16147) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 5, 2014Cask @ Baum. This 4.5% version is nearly, but not black with an off-white head. It has a burnt roasted aroma and taste.
Lenusik (119) - Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2013A brown/blackish coloured stout that looks awesome. The head was thin, tight, but disappeared quickly. The aroma was Roasted malt, some yeast, and a little coffee. The flavour profile was strong on the roasted malt, and little bit of cocoa bitterness. Not a bad beer, but not a memorable beer.
Metalchopz (5735) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 30, 2010Originally rated September 2004. Wychwood’s Black Wych Stout poured a very dark colour with ruby highlights. It had a creamy tan head and foamy lacing. The nose was malty with hints of caramel. The taste was slightly on the molasse side, creamy bitter with a dry finish. The mouthfeel was medium, which meant that this brew is not as filling as other stouts I’ve tried. Could drink many of these.
Countbeer (6586) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUL 27, 2010UPDATED: AUG 19, 2010 Bottle:
Small light brown to beige foamy head.
Almost black beer.
Smell some light roasted ingredients, coffee, spices and malts.
Taste is pretty watery, hope this is just a wrong batch or something.
Coffee and water is in the mix with a hint of spices and hop/malt.
Did expect more of this one, probably because of the great label.
Hope to get a better one in the future and do a rerate.
Cirrhosis (1283) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 19, 2009Very black body with a large tan crown, walls of lacing left behind with every sip. Very mild aroma with mild burn chocolate campfire smoke and some coffee. Ckalky bitter mild taste, some chocolate, some ash the ash really lingers in the after taste. I can even detect hints of sweet vanilla. Taste overall is light and crisp making this a very easy drinking stout.
