Dose (Yanjing Pineapple Juice Beer 燕京啤酒 菠萝果汁啤酒, 33 cl) aus einem Supermarkt in Peking. - Blond, blank, kurzlebiger Schaum - sieht auf den ersten Blick wie richtiges Bier aus. - In der Nase kräftige, etwas künstlich-süße Frucht: Ananas oder eher Ananaslimonade, dazu ganz schwach holzige Noten. - Antrunk wie Limonade: fruchtig-künstliche Ananas, mit Mineralwasser verdünnt. Gut rezent, dünner Körper. Die Süße hat etwas Getreidiges an sich - da schmeckt der Reis heraus; auch Zucker und Zitronensäure von der Zutatenliste erscheinen plausibel. Aber der ebenfalls aufgeführte Hopfen? Bestenfalls eine ganz zarte Andeutung von holziger Herbe im Abgang. Ansonsten: Limo. - Trotz der großspurigen Eigenbewertung auf der Dose mit "quality grade: excellent" kaum bierähnlich. (Verkostung: 22.12.2015.)

Clear yellow appearance, no head. Malty pineapple aroma, not much if any hops. Plain fruit beer.

Pours clear and pale yellow, with a very small white head. Very sweet and somehow artificial pineapple aroma, no beer aroma whatsoever. The same sweet pineapple dominates the flavor too. Just a faint malty flavor in the finish. No bitterness. Drinkable, but 99% pineapple soda and just a 1% beer. (330ml can, produced 14 Feb 2014).

Nice soft drink with a pineapple taste with some hints of beer. Enjoyable, but as a soft drink only, not much of a beer there.

Clear light yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate pineapple juice, canned pineapple juice. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, pineapple juice, canned pineapple juice, malt notes. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20120624]

Can. Clear very pale yellow with tiny white head. Aroma is pineapple. Flavour is pineapple, fruit, sweet and some malt.

Can @ fonefan tasting. Very small head with short duration. Color is close to water. Aroma and taste are all pineapple juice and hints of malt. Actually quite good, but somehow I dont think of beer when I drink this.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Almost colourless this beer, very pale gold. Short lived short white head. Light semi crisp palate. Very light! Pineapple juice and pineapple cubes. Does what it says (ahem) on the tin. Softish dry finish. Inoffensive but is it really a beer or a mild alcopop?

Can at Chriso’s Easter tasting 2012, given to me by a friend. It pours very light indeed - there is a hint of yellow and a thin white head. The nose is pineapple cubes, tinned pineapple and a touch of citrus. The taste is sweet pineapple, spritzy, pear and citrus. Light body and moderate carbonation. Overall quite sweet. Pretty drinkable actually. Does what it says on the tin.
