UPDATED: JUN 20, 2021 Draft at Little Beer Quarter in Wellington. Absolutely beautiful clear golden with a lasting lacy white head. Aroma is Earl Grey AF. Paging Captain Jean-Luc Shatner, someone just shat’n’er with a shitload of earl grey. Sorry I didn’t watch Star Trek so I know I butchered that. The flavor, if you can believe it, is yet another earl grey level. If you didn’t know what earl grey tea tastes like, now you do motherf**ker. Welcome to the resistance Dr. Picard. Let’s grab some Ewoks and take down those Formic bastards and wallface the f**k out of the Trisolarans while we’re at it. Medium body and a crisp feel. Solid brewsk if you like Earl Grey. If you don’t, hahaha good luck chief.

GoufCustom (3017) - HONG KONG - FEB 6, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2021 330 ml bottle bought at Tramline Liquor in Kennedy Town. Looks: Clear amber colour with a layer of dirt-like yeast sediments; Less than one-quarter finger head with soapy white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Fair sticky lacing with notable slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with strong honey, grapefruits, strong orange blossoms, tea leaves, sugar, biscuits, light lemon and light grass. Taste: Close to light sweet fair Ale malt, with strong ice tea, light tartness, underlying alcohol, light grapefruits, light red fruits, floral, biscuits, lemon, lime, medium bitter hops and grass. Body: Mid to light body; Fairly slick palate. Mouth Feel: Fair Ale maltyness in a runny but quite slick background. Strong non-sweet iced tea dominates, quite alcoholic with subtle grapefruits and red fruits in between. Flowery with very low sweetness. Lemon and lime to round. Really nice! Hoppiness: Grapefruits, strong orange blossoms, light lemon and light grass in nose. Light grapefruits, floral, lemon, lime and grass in taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid to high level fair Ale malty finish. After taste: Quite dry. Flowery citrusy and quite bitter to mouth. Comments: This one got the usual NZ ale's hoppy profile replaced with strong dose of Earl Greay tea, and the result is a telling orange blossom aroma and iced tea-ish taste backed with a solid malty body and subtle citrusy hops. One for the Summer!
