Major of my town drinks this. I tasted it when i drinked it with him on a business chat. Amazing taste, great deals made with it.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2011 Rich and sophisticated... warm estery Belgian yeast notes with dark chocolate and coconutty malts.

Bottle. Clear dark brown with a creamy beige head that lingers well. Aroma of dark caramel, chocolate, dough, light sweet-shop spices. Very slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Moderately sweet with chocolate, caramel, grass, cardamon pods, vanilla. Contrary to the description, hops are much in evidence, it’s just that they play a decidedly supporting role. If this had a tiny hint of a bass note it would be a lot more engaging. Almost the fabled imperial mild.

Bottle. Very dark brownish ruby pour with a large, lasting fluffy tan head. Coffee features strongly in both the aroma and the flavour as does caramel, chocolate, oaky vanilla and nuts. There are also hints of dark fruits like raisins and dates, particularly in the flavour. Dry but creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation and a lingering bitter finish that contains traces of sweetness and alcohol warnth. Out of all their suggestions in the commercial description "Imperial Brown Porter" is just about spot on. Very nice brew either way and very easy to drink.

One thing I’ve discovered about the Her Majesty 2010 is that it’s a beer even non-ale drinkers will enjoy, love and cause them to start exploring the craft brewing world. And I’m not surprised; this beer surprises the drinker. It’s dark, with a thick head, making you expect a bitter, rough-edged porter. But then the scents of spices and herbs float up to the nose, reminding you of a Belgian dubbel... but not quite. On the mouth it is so full, so sweet, with fruit chasing sour notes around, leaving a rich aftertaste of complex spices. One of my favourites.

From the bottle from Regional. I’m not rating this as a Dubbel as it’s clear from the first pour that this is another style bending Yeastie offering and all the better for it. More like a Belgian Imperial Brown Porter. Aroma features earthy chocolate, orchard fruit and a subtle underpinning of spice. In the mouth there is a prominent malty sweetness with a cocoa tinge, red apple fruit and a hint of christmas spice. Smart beer.
