wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAR 3, 2013Cask, Crown Posada, Newcastle. Amber looks with a small white head. Some ok hops in the nose and flavour. Some balancing malts. In reasonable nick. Drinkable and refrershing but lacking any real character.
BlackHaddock (12580) - The County Time Forgot, Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2012Pint during Nov 2006: Drank in The Crown Inn, Oakengates, from a handpull without a sparkler fitted.
Light amber, almost golden in colour, on top sat a small blanket of foam which was white and stayed for most of the pint before wisping away to nothing.
A slight hoppy aroma, not to overpowering, but definately a hoppy nose to it.
Tasted gritty and earthy with a late hop flavour coming through towards the end.
Dry mouthfeel, which added to the overall taste, I enjoyed this pint. Not as hoppy as some IPA’s, but still a very good beer.
imdownthepub (22082) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2009Cask conditioned at The Three Legged Mare, York. Hazed gold with white head. A beer that seems to have made a come back, and really not bad. Not quite in tip top condition which is surprising for this pub, but a good dry highly hopped bitter, the alcohol is nicely tucked away, there is a good biscuity body. Good stuff.
leaparsons (12356) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2009Cask, Peterborough Fest 09. Hazy gold with a bubbly head. Aromas are lots of citrus with yeast and melon. Flavours are light biscuit malts with yeast and lemon. Spicy, hoppy and decent.
harrisoni (24178) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2006Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Gold colour with lasting creamy beige head. Took severa pours to settle. Bit of diacetyl on aroma, butterscotch. Some good tingly hop on tip of tongue. Creamy and moderately full in mouth. Butterscotch aroma fades and you’re left with a creamy pleasant bitter with some hop. Not quite hoppy enough for a true IPA.
Mungo (2470) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2006Cask conditioned @ South Western Arms, Soton. Golden copper. Very tasty. Herbal refreshing hops with hints of pine. Nice malty flavours - not too sweet to interfere with the hops. Refreshing and rounded hoppy finish. THe odd hint of whiskyish strength on the nose prevent this scoring higher.
MesandSim (7116) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 8, 2006A Mes rate: Cask at Baker Street JDW. Goldish colour with an amber hue. Aromatic and hoppy with a lick of malt. Slightly tart but a little bit acrid.
