Focal Banger is an American India Pale Ale. We have a real love for IPAs here at The Alchemist, and we strive to offer you the best hop experience that we possibly can. This beer is brewed using Citra and Mosaic hops and our favourite British malts. Truly, an abundance of hoppy goodness... Freshness and control have always been my main concern when it comes to our beer. We are committed to providing you with and unfiltered and unpasteurized hop experience. Why do I recommend that you drink it from the can? Quite simply, to ensure a delightful hop experience. The act of pouring it in a glass smells nice, but it releases the essential hop aromas that we have worked so hard to retain. If you MUST pour it into a glass, you may find that some of the hop resins have settled to the bottom - leave them in the can when poring. This beer is perishable and at its best when it's young, fresh and hazy. Keep it cold, but not ice cold. Drink this beer today, you could be dead tomorrow... - John Kimmich

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2021 From a 16 oz can dated 11/16/21 into a stem glass. Pours hazy light yellow with head and lace. Aroma of grains, grapefruit rind, hops. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of pale malt, caramel, melon, slight pepper, minerals, grapefruit concentrate. The Focal Point is rich, flavorful, yummy for the big flavored hazy IPA lovers.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2021 Pours a bright lemony yellow with a foamy white head. Hoppy herbal aroma. Medium body. Herbal grainy flavors with a sharp dry bitter mouth feel. Finishes with a strong bitter citrus rind aftertaste. Doesn’t match up with all the hype. Not as good as I expected.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2021 Hazy gold with a rocky white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus fruit, pine and grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet and medium/heavy bitter.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2021 Can from Uptown. Pours a pale orange hue with a medium white head. A big sweet lemon and almost like a herbal lemongrass nose. The palate is awesome, pillowy, bitterness throughout, lemons, more of that herbal nature, some mint, clean. This blows the lactose sweet dominated hazies out of the water.

Better than heady topper. More juice although the palate is a little too bitter. I drank from the can as they advise and the scent really pops.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2021 Shared can at regional tasting. Slightly hazy yellow colour, white head. Decent fruity aroma. Decent fruity flavour too, solid bitterness.

Huge citra bomb (+mosaic). Astringent, and not juicy enough for the intensity. Drink out of the can? Why?
Not loving it at all.
