COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is Stone Imperial Russian Stout, and it was aged for about a year in a used bourbon barrel. From that wooden cask, we were only able to keg up very little.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2021 Black with a brown head - Roasted malt aroma with charred wood and bourbon - Roasted malt body with toasted wood with some bourbon flavours and some alcohol heat - Dark malt and alcohol heat goes into the finish - This was real good

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2021 Backlog. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is of dark roast malt, coffee, chocolate, and bourbon. The intense flavor is of roast malt, coffee, chocolate, licorice, and bourbon, and balances the huge malt bill with a hefty dose of hops. Full bodied and delicious.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2021 Opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malts, cocoa, bourbon, wood, vanilla, and light booze.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of dark roast, molasses, licorice and dark chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with more dark roast, molasses, licorice, dark chocolate, wood, bourbon, booze, coffee, malts with medium carbonation and a nice chewy aftertaste. Really good.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2020 I had this beer at Aces and Ales in Las Vegas on tap along with a host of other high level imperial stouts. Of additional impact, this is my 100th imperial stout to rate, easily the most of any style and one of my favorites of course. It came to me as the 2017 version of Fyodor’s. Very black certainly in appearance with a dark mahogany skim of foam. The nose was chocolate with a hint of coffee. But it was the taste I was there for. Really good. Bakers chocolate, dark wheat bread, toffee and malt with a great finishing bitterness. Potent with the bourbon effect and tasty. Smooth too.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2020 Sugar Vanilla and Old Grandad. Roasted Cocoa and chocolate the alcohol makes it seem light while the dark fruits give it wafting body and chew. Vanilla for balance i am sure. Black as coal with eerie dark brown lacing that slithers around the top of the glass like a snake and gets swallowed by the alcohol or done in by Pappy.Licorice? oh yeah. Some Caramel dang in Earthy ash..

davidezdonz (1514) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - DEC 18, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2019 As Stone Fyodor. A 500ml corked and caged bottle, 2017 Series, Batch No.02, bottled in October 2017. Poured into a snifter glass. It poured black in colour with a thin brown head that dissipated almost immediately and left only sparse to no lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, prunes, raisins, molasses, oak, with touches of bourbon and vanilla. Tastes sweet, boozy, bourbon, light roast, chocolate, coffee, molasses, dark fruit, plum, prunes, raisins. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall sweet and boozy, which is not a preferable combination for me as I find it too rich, and not easy to drink, even if just sipping. I preferred Stone Mikhail a lot more as I felt that was much more balanced.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2019 Aromat wyraźnie beczkowy, alkoholowy z czekoladą, kakao. Barwa czarna nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa drobno pęcherzykowa, średniej wielkości i podobnie trwała. Smak umiarkowanie słodki z lekką kwaskową kontrą. Sporo czekolady deserowej, paloności, melano, alkoholu. Goryczka słodowo-alkoholowa, w okolicach średniej, przyjemna. Pełnia wysoka, wysycenie średnio niskie i melanoidynowy, alkoholowy finisz z wyraźną nutą beczkową.
