11th Street Taphouse Bar & Grille

Good beer bar. Quite a few taps (50?). Good selection but being right and the main drag you pay for it. But what's better then a beer then turning around and your right on the beach?

Right on the beach, nice ambiance

Very cool restauraunt on the boardwalk. Sit outside on the patio or inside at the bar or grab a table. Waitresses and bartenders will take care of you even when they’re slammed. Good atmosphere and good selection. One of my favorite places at the beach.

Came here hoping to have a few local beers i have never had before and walked away disappointed. They do have 32 taps but it is a pretty pedestrian selection. I had a O’Conner pale ale and a Star Hill Jomo. The place looked pretty nice and might be fun for a football game but it is not a beer destination. They do have a good happy hour on Thursdays where all craft beer is half off, which makes the beers about normal price, unfortunatly when I went it was a Tuesday.

OK, I added this place shortly after it opened, but I didn’t rate it, as I’ve pretty much quit rating in general. I went there last night, and I’m kinda sorry I did, so I feel this is a cautionary tale. The tap list is OK, a few goodies and VA beers, but a lot of swill, too (it IS a resort area) and pretty pricey (again, resort area, but $8.75+ the big Virginia Beach restaurant tax makes for an almost $10 pint of 90 Minute). Service was very good - our waitress did real well. Other than that, this place is pretty useless. Wings were marginal, pizza was awful. There was live music, which I normally like, but the volume was about double what it should have been for a place this size. It was a Friday night in the "off season" (January) - the place was crawling with cheesy bleach blondes in high black boots trying to look younger than they are. If all this wasn’t enough, it was Ladies Night, which apparently means ragged out bimbos trying to dress like twentysomethings trying to sell my wife trashy jewelry and marital aids during dinner. We will NOT be returning.

I came here on Thanksgiving after I ate dinner with my family. My cousins and I were looking for a good bar and we definitely found one. The food looked really good though we already ate. The beer was oustanding, so many choices. They have like over 3o beers on tap! So many tvs its crazy , even in the bathroom. Loooking forward to going back.This place was friggin great.

I didn’t add this place, but rated it since it was here. I think the best way to sum this place up is you could do a lot worse, particularly in the resort area. Had some swill on tap, but had some good stuff as well. Bluegrass Jefferson Reserve, Aventinus, DFH, Terripan, ETC...Enjoyable overall, & I did like seeing 32 taps @ a bar on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Good wings, other food looked good as well. Great location.
