76 Next stop in Scott's Addition. Fairly modern set up, with inside and outside seating options. Flights and crowlers available. Good, knowledgable staff. A bit more of a crowd than Strangeways. |
90 My favorite brewery in RVA...very chill vibe, awesome outdoor space, dog friendly, cozy industrial indoor space, great friendly service and most of all terrific beer. Wide variety of styles constantly rotating, but always balanced and smooth, never over the top or rushed. |
74 Typical Scott's Addition location, large former warehouse, outdoor patio, indoor beer area. And generally packed (pre-COVID). Beer selection is nice. Lots of other nearby options if the place is too busy. |
70 Place feels more like a beer festival than a brewery, but nice on a sunny Saturday. Service is a little like a fast food restaurant since it's so busy, but bartenders were friendly enough. They do flights, but not when it's super busy - they said mine was last of the day. Prices OK. Beers mostly above average. |
78 One of my favorite breweries in the brewery district. There is a large beer garden and smaller indoor seating area. Beers are quite good, I enjoyed the plum gose, imperial milk stout, and dark rye. No food but there are food trucks. Worth a stop. |
66 Big and apperantly popular place. "Beer garden" outside. Ordering was from the waitress at cash registry, then you picked your beers from bartenders. Effective. Flights of four available. 14 beers available. Beers are average. |
74 Went here since really close to the Veil. Wasn’t too impressed with the beers, but people were very nice. Would like to see a normal list as they just had a big event the day before. |
86 Shortest of walks from The Veil, fairly industrial area. This is a large space with covered outside seating for better weather times and what seems to be a semi-permanent food truck with tacos that were quite tasty. Large open space inside with a bar front and center and tables scattered about. Busy on a Thursday night. All of their beers offered in 5 oz pours, and flights of four available. I ordered two sets of two 5 oz pours and the bartender said he was going to call it a flight to save me $3, which I thought was nice of him. Quite a varied selection of beers, with hoppy stuff, saisons, BA saisons and sours. Nothing dark and chewy on, but that might have been the only missing piece. Of the four beers I tried, all were excellent. Really high beer quality here, at least based on my sample. This is a place to watch. |
72 Located in an industrial area. Nice tap selection as well as a few bottles to go. Barrel aged beers on tap. Great place and will be nice in the summer when you can sit outside. |
66 Visited on a rainy Friday evening in October. The venue is located in a less than charming industrial district, and the entire area can give an unprepared visitor a shudder, especially after dark. However, the atmosphere inside the brepub - a modern, rather scantily firnished room of considerable size - is very warm. The staff are very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the beer they sell. The selection is not great in numbers, but the beers are very decent. Fair prices. Could be back again to taste a few more of the beers. |
