54 Arena itself is a posh place full of expensive shops and upscale strip joints, so no wonder that the brewpub looks really expensive. Now, we didn't have any food but from what I remember of a quick glance at their menu it was not excessively expensive, with prices matching those in semi upscale restaurants in big eastern European cities (e.g. fillet mignon 12EUR/200g). The beer prices were even cheap, I'd say, with 2EUR per 500ml and 1,50EUR for a 4x100ml tasting tray, poured into crystal (!) goblets. Unfortunately the beer quality was matching its price, so unless you're out to fancy dining or are an avid ticker (or would like to get some beer before entering Penthouse night club around the corner), this one is not really worth a detour. |
52 Pricey upmarket establishment |
48 Brewpub, but beer not main theme for this glamour disco. |
44 In the middle of a courtyard off some main roads, this place certainly has an upscale feel to it. 4 house beers available. Flights of 4 x 0.1L available for only 50 UAH ($2 US). The beers themselves are either nothing special or flawed, so only stop here for the quick, cheap ticks. |
38 Located in the very classy & expensive Arena City. Next door basically next to the wonderful Pinchuk Art Center (if you care about modern art & it is free so what do you have to loose?). Close to Бесарабський ринок where you have a wonderful vegan eatery right amongst the butcheries. Anyway, place is hugely expensive & upper-class, I felt super out of place here, too classy for me, like expensive hotel bar feel & look. Super polite, classy service, bit much for me. They seem to have 4 beer in theory, only 2 available. Beers were very poor and kit tasting. TV’s as common & people smoking hookah which is a thing among the rich currently it seems. Remember beer prices being okay but didn’t note, rest I didn’t note, didn’t try food or anything else besides the beer. Fine for rich people & classier tourist than me, I felt out of place beer, beer is very poor, there is that. Only if you are strapped for ticks. |
42 3 classics with nice quality. Not a bad choice for Kiev. |
44 Western style pub aimed at the tourist trade. Beers are not very exciting. Food is OK, waitstaff indifferent. |
44 By far the most expensive of 3 Kiev brewpubs. Just for comparison- 0.30l beer: Shato 20UAH (2€), Pivarium 19UAH (1.9€), Arena 30UAH (3€); half liter here 45UAH (4.5€)...Insane!!! And in my opinion the worst beers of all three brewpubs. Also, many people were eating overprices lunch around 13h. Moderate big place, not so hard to find (right next to big Billa supermarket) but the major problem is how to find parking place. Quite slow service although there are more than enough waiters. Four house beers and all of them seems to be quite acidic. Just in case there’s also Beck’s Non-alcoholic. |
36 In many respects this place epitomizes the worst of second world Eurotrash. In practice, it was not as bad as expected (decent service and not as creepy as some of this type) but still hideous in many respects: it’s just an oversized frightening corporate monstrosity brewing plonky kit beer. It’s not at all American as a previous rater suggested--it is a lot more like the ginormous and always empty brewpubs in Asia. Only this one seems to double as a nightclub-type thing. Anyway, you’re better off missing it if you have limited time in Kiev, which is a great city otherwise. |
78 Midweek,so no real atmosphere,bu good overall beer quality, the weisse beer especially good!
