Astro Lab Brewing

Visited 3/2020. Pretty short walk from metro station. Had lots of IPAs available and they were pretty good! Pretty crowded on Sunday.

Astro Lab is one of three decent breweries to grace this former "Beer Wasteland." It is a large and airy venue, with a decent-sized bar along with high-tops and several communal tables, many with families enjoying themselves. They have about 10 taps, including about 5 IPAs, several brewed with single hops. The food menu consists of sausage rolls/meat pies. They have a terrace in front for quaffing beers with Al Fresco. If you are taking the Metro, there is a FREE shuttle bus (No. 28) that passes right past. This is a very nice place and I wish them well. I shall return.

Dammit, I am having a hard time remembering this place. I need to be quicker about entering my rakes I guess. I think this had a first floor and second floor bar and the first floor was closed for some reason. Beer quality decent.

Small brewery a short walk from Silver Branch. More trendy styles like hazy IPAs, sours, and cocoa stouts. All pretty good from what I tried though the two stouts tasted pretty similar. Flights of 3 available, crowlers to go. Small food menu with some hand pies and other little things, got there 6 minutes after the kitchen closed unfortunately. Worth a look combined with the other local spots.

Cool place near Silver Spring metro and halfway between Denizens and Silver Branch brewing. Smaller selection than those two but quality is probably slightly higher. They had a great saison and one of their IPAs was really good. A little bit more arrogant than the other two though unfortunately. Most beers available in small pours except some of their special editions, available in half pints. Though they do inform you that their beer is best drunk one at a time. Some baked food - I had a sausage roll which was OK. Service OK. Nice patio seating and they have wifi.
