66 Typical pizza place with a long bar on one side, the rest is restaurant tables. Pizza was tasty and beer list was solid enough, available in pints or 10 ounce pours. |

80 Visited on a busy Saturday evening. 2-story pub, with dining and a bar on the main floor and another bar with pool tables and games on the second floor. Different selections of beer at the two different bars. Pretty good selection, but the majority of the taps weren’t too exciting for me (being from Charlotte, I was hoping to find a good selection of beers that were unique for SC), but I was surprised and happy to find a Creature Comforts and a Cigar City on tap. |

86 Bigger place in the very nice Greenville downtown area. Pool tables, darts shuffle board, pub food. Upstairs and downstairs both have lot’s of options, each different. Bartender was very knowledgeable, had a good conversation about sours. Nothing they had blew me away, but a wide variety of styles. Definitely worth a stop. |
72 Stopped in for lunch and a brew while in town - kind of an old school decor and vibe - if you’ve ever been in an American brewpub or beer bar that has been around for more than 10 or 15 years, you’ll recognize this vibe immediately - anyway - clearly a very family-friendly establishment - lots of families on my visit - very nice selection of draft beer, ranging from craft staples to a few rarities - far fewer regional beers than I had hoped (two Westbrook and a handful of others) - decent bottle list, plus "vintage" beers that mostly consist of readily available strong beers that just happen to be very old - staff was welcoming, but apparently not sufficient to handle the crowd, as they were not very attentive - when I was done with my beer and food, the bartender shoved the check at me without asking if I needed anything else (I didn’t, but that is not the point) - being a native New Yorker, I am pretty particular about pizza - this was merely decent - kind of dry - the fact that everyone in there besides me was eating their pizza with a fork and knife made the New Yorker in me want to have a heart attack - servers did not seem that well versed in the beer or glassware (I overheard two of them discussing whether or not to pour a Bourbon County Stout into a pint glass), but this can mostly be forgiven - overall, the beer selection is nice, but the service and food make the place lacking for me (perhaps the stuff besides pizza is good) kind of like a not as cool version of Max’s in Baltimore (if you’ve been there, you’ll immediately see why I make the comparison) - I would come back for a beer. |
86 Decor could use an update, kind of stuck in 10 years ago, but still nicely maintained. Bartender was very nice, up on the beer knowledge and definitely prompt. Selection was great, lots of locals on tap and obviously lots of stone stuff, had bottles I had never seen anywhere else. Food was alright, nothing to write home about but satisfies you when you’re a few beers deep. Solid visit when you’re in town. |
80 This place is fun, has pool tables up stairs and has many beers on tap and quite a few bottles you can buy of older hard to find beers, but comes with a price. |
50 Not a fan of this place at all. Big open room space, old not redone just doesn’t look great. Its so loud in here you can barely think, let alone talk to someone at your table. Despite a slow night our server was frenzied, mixing up tickets, and not even getting a beer order from us for 10 minutes. Draft selection is meh, a combination of locals which is great with easier to find widely distributed beers. They offer a sampler of 6 of anything which is a nice touch to sample locals. The problem was the locals on tap all sucked. They had an outdated vintage list with good stuff, but the best stuff was gone. Please update more often then every month, this was dated 3/15/2014. Got an app, and the food didn’t necessitate sticking for dinner. Might be the best pizza place in town, so if you want food head over, otherwise go elsewhere. |
82 A 2-story venue with lots of taps upstairs and even more downstairs. Also carries a large selection of bottles. Rare beers routinely come thru here, as do various special events. I’ve enjoyed beers here with both Sam C. (Dogfish Head) and Greg Koch (Stone), not to mention a good variety of friends and strangers. Friendly atmosphere. Probably THE best craft beer bar in SC. |
