80 Well stocked & friendly run bottle shop only a stone throw from Buxton tap house, with a excellent range of Derbyshire ales/ German & Belgium. |

78 Modest sized beer shop, conveniently located near to Redwillow's pub and the Buxton Tap House. Impressive range of beers, decent smattering of Belgian beers including one or two rarities, good range of local beers from relative newcomers and a nice range of ciders. Some spirits, gin and wine too. Like others have said, prices are quite keen, but I can't imagine rent is the cheapest in this stretch either. Nice place. |
72 Small shop with interesting collection. Worth dropping in. Somewhat expensive. Has Buxton although the tap house is just around the corner. |
80 Small bottle shop around the corner from Buxton taphouse. Friendly owner, very helpful. Reasonable range of varied beers for a small town. No Buxton Brewery beers, they won't sell to him |
68 Small craft beer shop in the centre of town. Friendly, enthusiastic chap running it. However, stock seemed a little limited, the shelves looked a bit bare. Some interesting brews (lots of the Torrside monster brews for instance), but surprised and a bit disappointed that there was nothing from Buxton Brewery. Prices seemed on the high side - a little higher than in my local craft beer shops back in the normally pricier home counties. So overall, friendly but maybe a little disappointed in the range and the prices. |
80 Nice small beershop with a top selection of special brews |
82 Good beershop not far away from the Buxton taproom, Nice selection with small Brewers and Cloudwater |
80 We visited here Saturday 10th December, following a great afternoon spent at Torrside Brewery Open Weekend just up the road in New Mills. For orientation purposes Beer District is pretty much central in Buxton it’s nestled within a lovely little row of shops and restaurants called the Colonnade. To find it is easy, in fact you’ll get to here in barely a minute from the Buxton Tap and within 2-3 mins you’d be at the railway station. Inside it is a small’ish’ unit, however it’s well laid out so feels quite roomy. Beers are on racking laid on the LH and RH sides, I seem to recall that they were done in styles as well. For advice, payment or general beery chat the counter is at the rear the store. Beer choice was good I picked up 4-5 new beers and could have easily got a lot more, it was a good selection that had a good balance of local and not so locals beery offerings. We liked this place the young guys running it were genuinely enthusiastic and chatty and clearly knowledgeable, it’s a good addition to the Buxton beer scene. |
