Fun German bar with a jail cell in it. Quite a few tap selections with quite a few good German brews available at a good price. I have never been impressed with the service here as the bartenders and servers have always seemed more interested in themselves than the patrons. The food is good with some interesting variations like rueben eggrolls. This is located just on the other side of Bent River so if you’re going to one you should go to both.

Stopped in on Nov. 25, 2011. Great beer bar - lots of taps, and you can flight anything for $4.75 for 4 beers. Didn’t eat. Cool vibe, wi-fi, and free parking.

Not too far from the house is the Bier Stube. They have a pretty extensive tap selection, but there aren’t too many that aren’t the "usual suspects." There are always a couple of locally brewed options, and they have their own Hefe, on tap, that is brewed by Two Brothers. Even though it really is German owned, it tries too hard to be German style, to the point that it’s a hair tacky. The servers are decent, but the bar tenders don’t always know what’s on tap. The tap lists are kept fairly up to date. The food, though, is excellent. They have a TON of authentic German sausages, which they have a sampler of. They also have some very good schnitzels(the jager schnitzel being my favorite). Proper glassware is offered for most beers, and they have 2 liter boots available. Be warned, if you break a boot, they’ll charge you upwards of $50 for it.

Had lunch here and tried a sampler of four draft German beers. Selection mostly German and common stuff. Atmosphere loud with a lot of twenty-somethings. Food was good, decent value. It was a bit of a disappointment as they give the impression of a huge beer selection but I couldn’t find that much interesting.

Right next door to the Bent River Brewpub. I didn’t have the opportunity to try the food, which I heard was the best part of this place. The crowd was mainly hipsters....which I disliked. Service was average at best, however it was pretty busy. Tried a few things that I hadn’t had before and sat outside. Not bad.

After a long day’s ride it was time to get some food and drinks. Walking into this faux German restaurant reminded me of walking into a fake Irish pub. Maybe it was the dead Sunday afternoon atmosphere and cheesy German technopop but this did not feel like entering an international bar.

The food options were pretty much what you would expect. I ate most of a reuben slathered in cole slaw before taking a look at the tap list. It was decent enough and not your run of the mill bar fare. Kudos on at attempting some level of authenticity.

I ended up not ordering a beer but there were around fifteen taps. Covering most styles they were mostly European offerings. Complementing these were a few local / regional beers which looked interesting. If I had been in the mood for something heavier than water there were certainly a few options. You won’t find anything too over the top here but the selection is better than the generic German lagers at some other places.

Delightful find! Just around the corner from bent river. If you stay at the Radisson you will be in view of both.

I go to this place at least once a week and I really enjoy my time whenever I visit. The ambience is decent - German stuff thrown all over the place and there are always TVs with various sporting events on from baseball to soccer. Upstairs there is are old school arcade games and shufflepuck, which is always tons of fun. I’ve never had a problem with service, whether sitting on the restaurant or the bar side. The waiters and waitresses are prompt and attentive and I’ve never had a mistake with my food order or beers. The beer selection is pretty big with lots on tap and plenty of bottles to boot. The only drawback is that they don’t get new stuff frequently enough, and they have a hard time getting a lot of good specialties. The food is mostly German fare that is all delicious. The selection of sausages are made by the meat company owned by the same person who owns the restaurant - and he’s an authentic German. Get a German dish and you won’t be disappointed! The value can be great on the right nights. Mondays are $2.50 pints of about anything, and Wednesdays are $1 drafts of the common crappy beers, usually with something decent tossed in like Amber Bock or Leinie’s. Food specials vary from day to day and week to week, but there can be some great ones. Overall, I really like this place and highly recommend it!

Been here a number of times. Lots of cool German swag on the walls. Great selection of German hefes, bocks, etc... Decent selection of American Micros. German food is authentic and excellent. Schnitzel, spätzle, and brown sauce is great.

Located right around the corder from Bent River, there’s a big difference in the type of crowd attracted to each place. Bier Stube had all the loud tables of amatuer drinkers you could ever hope for, and the beer selection was rather limited, of course focused on German beer, but most if not all of the selections you could find at other bars, and most likely at area beer stores as well. So, even though it’s close to Bent River, I won’t be visiting again.
