Walking through the front doors and into the rustic dining area, you face a small serving bar, where house beers (and local crafts) are poured for the thirsty patrons who have gathered with families and friends as well as locals and strangers enjoying their brews and bites at rows of communal tables. Incidentally, if you are ever curious as to where to find the noisiest brats in San Diego, then search no further than this particular room. Much like other San Diego’s beer venues, there is no table service, so you will need to go to the aforementioned bar and order the aforementioned brews and bites, the latter including some tasty salami pizza along with some pricey charcuterie: this, a fancy word for sausage and cheese platter. I got a chance to quaff their very decent Equal Rye along with an interesting Humulus Lager from friendly competitor Bruery. The beers here are fresh, well crafted and well poured. Well, one problem here at BLAH was the generally long line that resulted from the one server who seemed to spend more time checking IDs of fat Mexican chicks than pouring beers for us “thirsty patrons.”

Sort of a hipster dive bar. On a main drag, street parking is challenging, use Lyft if you can. Order at one of two registers, pick up your beer, take a number and your food will be brought to your table. Seasonal charcuterie was very tasty. Pizza was OK, nothing special. Beers were unremarkable as well with only one stand-out in two flights - flights, by the way, are either the entire list of Automatic or the entire list of Sudwerk. Worth a stop.

BLAH as this place is affectionately known is a hipster brewpub located in a hipster neighborhood. The dark wooden interior is cozy with lots of recycled decor. There are a few bars seats and you can get service there; otherwise you must stand in line and order. They had several house beers available and I did not take a look at the other options. I enjoyed some Belgian frites alongside my beers.

Visited Friday, 7/1/2016. Very nice draft list, with about 20-30 beers. We ordered pizza, and it exceeded our expectations - very good. Service was fairly good, despite it being quite crowded. Recommended stop.

Lots to love here: Comfortable, communal interior. Super-informed staff. Nice range of beers, including their own, mostly from California. But the ordering system -- where you have to leave your chums to queue up -- is frustrating and on a Friday or Saturday night would dissuade you from ordering more than one beer, I’d think. And the prices for the food are ambitious -- $17 for a small charcuterie plate? Hmmm. Still, on a weekend afternoon this is a wonderful place to be.

Stopped in for dinner and drinks here last weekend. I’d say this place is almost ideal for a guy like me. Parking was street only; ambience is cool dark wood and big windows looking out to the street. They had probably 25 beers on tap, including Older Viscosity and some other somewhat rare stuff. You order beer and food at the counter and they bring it out. Super friendly staff. Great place for a date or for a family visit.

Visited on 4th of July a/m/ when the BLAH nicely opened early to allow viewing of the World Cup match. About 24 beers on tap, including one cask from Stone. Good variety with the selection favoring Calif. beers (including Pliny the Elder) but also including a number of internationals. Food has a very good reputation but the kitchen was closed due to the holiday.

Awesome spot. Slightly cleaned up version of Tiger!Tiger!. Little more open and airy. Great tap list with lots of interesting stuff to choose from, service was really helpful and friendly.
