Very nice laid back brewery. Employees are very friendly and helpful and the beer is very good.

Visited on a Thursday near dinner time. Located near downtown, close off the freeway in a light industrial, somewhat rundown part of town. Park kind of wherever nearby. They had a lot, though when I visited there was an alumni function that occupied the space. There is a bar and tables in the open area of the brewery, or there is also a pub sort of area built in the corner of the building. Access to both is from the exterior of the building. 9 house beers on draft, pours or growlers - I didn’t see any tasters on offer. In addition to the alumni event (Wake Forest) there was also an urban yoga class happening in the brewery. Weird place, quirky but fun.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

2-22-2013 RBWG. They have approximately 10 beers on tap. They plan to expand the brewery and add a beer garden. They have a malt room and this is a typical looking brewery. A brewery worth checking out.

Great local brewery!! I always love the feel of this place. When you walk in people are always friendly and playing games. The people that go here are always laid back and are there to enjoy great beer and relax. They also have their brewery room open for additional seating and often have a food vendor or some sort for food if desired. Their selection and what they have on is pretty small, but they are a small brewery, I do like that they keep it just their beers. When I bring new people they are always generous and knowledgeable and will give them a flight of their beers. This is a great place to bring people as everyone always enjoys something and has a great time. Their prices are really reasonable too!

Drinking a sampler of good beer and playing Rock em Sock em Robots or any of the board games is a fine easy to spend an evening.

I guess I’m a bit biased - I enjoyed BCB brews before they even officially opened. Just down the street from my house, it was the go-to spot for myself and several other Iowa transplants to enjoy cold beers in their parking lot with Jolly Mon cooking up delish grub on the grill. Duke’s Ale - named after their brew dog - was the first I tried. The family was always very nice and attentive in those first months, and service was top-notch. I still keep the complimentary pint glasses they handed out any time you killed a keg on your order. I no longer live in Jacksonville, but they’ll always have a spot on my top brewery list. It’s a fairly small bar and seating area, so enjoy the parking lot ambiance with some card, connect four, or jenga.

Visited here during RBWG 2013. Big thanks to the brewery for giving us the all-access experience, complete with complimentary beer and food! The beers from Bold City are decent. Not the most progressive beers out there, but solid. We were in the brewery rather than the bar section of this place, so we didn’t have the experience most visitors would likely have. The bar space looked nice, like a proper no-frills American bar. We got to meet a few of the staff and even the owner, who was generous enough to crack open some of their limited release beers for us. I had a great time here and would happily return.

Nice cozy bar area with a wide open table area in the back. Nice beer selection. Pretty solid brew pub line up. None of the beers rocked my world but all good. No TV’s in back area.

Visited as part of the RBWG bus tour. Cool spot in a warehouse type building on the other side of the RR tracks (literally) from Intuition. Slightly shady neighborhood but we had strength in number. TUBES! Again, folks here had a number of food stations with paired kegs set up for us so we got the VIP treatment. Beers were so-so to not so good but the staff was all very friendly. Probably won’t return though unless GT dragged me there to tick.
