84 Pretty impressive facility - especially compared to the somewhat cramped space that they used to use for the same purpose at the brewery. I really like the layout with the levels and large tasting area and gift shop. Impressive. |
88 If you're in the KC area, this is obviously a must-visit. They have a nice variety of experimental, standard and seasonal beer on tap. The taproom is massive with lots of wood and beer memorabilia. Food is average. Service is very friendly. |
86 Boulevard's new-ish Beer Hall is on the same general campus as its production facility and the tours now launch from the first floor here. The first floor has a mini museum near the tour launch site, plus a huge shop and a back bar (which is usually used for private events). Upstairs is a large bar with queues to handle the crowds and a secondary bar with Test stuff. Prices are fair, lower than most other bars in the area, and it's a good selection. Basically their whole regular lineup plus seasonals and some one-offs. I think there were 39 different beers available when I visited, not including the bottles and cans in the store. Service is fine, but it was so crowded the bartenders can only do so much. Another 1-2 wouldn't have hurt, though. Overall, you've gotta visit this place if you're in town. They're the original, the biggest, the standard for what's going on beer-wise in KC. |
96 Not that it's a fair comparison by any stretch, but this was my favorite brewery I visited on my trip to KC. Boulevard has an expansive, cozy, and informative tap room. The giant patio overlooking the skyline is a nice touch. We all know Boulevard makes amazing beer across the board and the tap list here fully reflected that. Tons of the more readily available beers were on the list along with smaller batch and tap room only offerings. Everything I had was excellent per usual. Prices are good. I think there's a restaurant of some kind tucked in the back, but I never made it over there. A bunch of cool swag is in the gift shop downstairs. I'd consider this a must stop. |
88 I think Boulevard is one of the most underappreciated breweries in the US, so I was really looking forward to this one. Lovely old industrial space with plenty of parking. It's located in the shadow of their production brewery. The tours and gift shop are on the ground floor. The beer hall is on the second floor and it's a big room with a nice sized patio that offers a nice view of the city. They had everything available in a 5 ounce pour and pretty efficient ordering system. For a corporate space, it was pretty compelling. |
82 21 Dec 2016. this place is huge! tour guide was very friendly and nice but his spiel was definitely memorized. huge store and nice bar upstairs. Definitely a must do item if you are in KC. |
80 A great place to visit. Closes early. The shop has really nice variety of merchandise and beers to buy to-go. Merchandise is not that cheap but the beers are (starting from $1.50 a bottle). The taproom in second floor has nice selection of brews with some test beers that are only available there. Flights available. No food. A bit touristic though. |
84 I like the new beer garden. Excellent selection of beers, including some "test" beers available only there. Big, open contemporary design. Long tables for groups or just socializing with new people. Worth the trip!! |
88 Very nice....modern and old school, foosball table....cool. |
86 If you want to take a tour, show up early. Like 10am early. You can sign up for any tour you want, in 30 min. increments. We signed up at 10:15 for an 11:30 tour (the first available), and worried that there would not be enough to do. There was plenty. The store is on the first floor. It is huge, reasonably priced and has hard to find beers to take home as well as all sorts of merch. The top floor is a giant beer hall with some exclusive tap room only "test" beers, as well as all their classics. There were also drinks for the kids, foosball, board games, and a free photo booth shaped like a trailer. The food looked good, but we did not order any. The tour was friendly and informative, the place is immaculately clean, and you get 3 good sized samples. You have to check this place out. |
