Brass Monkey Hotel

When I first visited Perth 19 years ago this place was an oasis but it’s now run down and a bit of a dump. The fabric of some of the seats in the main bar area could definitely do with a clean - I thought I’d need to clean my trousers after sitting down. We went there on two Mondays and there was a DJ playing a pretty poor choice of music, too loud, and nowhere to get away from it. Hardly surprising that there weren’t many customers. A good choice of beers but that’s about it.

Was quite busy when I was visiting. Choice off beers & service was quite good though.

Went in on a Saturday night, won’t do it again.

If I was going to Northbridge I’d stop here. Better beer selection than other places in the area. Nothing fancy but better than the typical fare. Avoid it on weekends, full of idiots.

Decent food at a decent price although they dont have a heck of alot of craft beer on tap.

Typical pub in northbridge just with better beer. AVOID AT ALL COSTS ON WEEKENDS. Full of knobs. Always have solid beers on tap though. Nothing that blows your mind but you can always find something decent to drink

Visited twice during January - February 2008. Good place to hang out and gulp down local Mathilda Bay brews like Rooftop and Bohemian Pilsner from tap.

Fun spot in Perth. Went on a Wednesday night, so it was a little slow, but a good crowd outside. Had an amazing Brass Monkey Stout, very tasty! Just a quick stop during my trip to Perth, but enjoyed the pub.

An unwavering favourite when I lived here. Huge, with awesome blend of pub atmosphere or trendy cocktail lounge, depending on where you choose to sit. Our favourite spot was in front of the massive roaring fire on leather couches with a jumbo screen TV overhead. The food is awesome and the beer selection is terrific, with fresh Matilda Bay offerings to carry you through the night.

A bar that I often visit if I’m in Northbridge. Hell I think I grew up here as it served as a meeting place for us crusty ravers during ’doop-doop’ ceremonies. Typical Northbridge air about it, bouncers with a grudge against all things human, trendy nerd with bombshell disinterested girlfriend and the odd college professor discreetly perving on the package in the mini. This pub has it all, and for me it hasn’t changed a bit. As part of the ALH group it has the usual S&A, Matilda Bay, but often surprises with a local or interstate micro. Still a great place to chill and watch the world go by.
