76 Can’t believe I haven’t rated this place. I used to hit up Brewer’s all the time when working in the Reading / Exeter area. I moved far enough away a few years ago that I hardly ever get to Brewer’s any more. I was back in the neighborhood this past weekend, in need of a six-pack and stopped in. It obviously made me realize that I should finally submit a rating for the place. It’s a fairly small venue, but has a very good selection of craft beer. They have a bunch of local (southeast PA) micros on draft and in bottles. They also feature an outstanding and expanded selection of bottles in the side room. That’s the place to collect a sixer or three to go. The food isn’t really anything to write home about, but is tasty and gets the job done. The decor definitely screams local sports bar, not that that’s a bad thing. They have plenty of tv’s to watch all the local teams play. The crowd is definitely local, as well, which gives the place its down-home and friendly feel. This is a good alternative to the 3rd & Spruce Cafe, which is a block or so up the street that features some stuffy clientele and a much louder scene. |
72 Great place to watch a game have a good beer and some great food. |
