78 16 well selected draft lines, primarily focused on local offerings. A great place for the neighborhood. |
74 Very near to the 235th street 1 train station, large bar with rustic decor, 16 beers on tap with online access to what's available including the amounts on their website. Pub food, 20-30 bottles, and a beer club advertised in their menu. Nice place for the area. Mostly NY locals, blue collar people when I visited (lunch time). |
74 Visited March 2013. At Sunday daytime it is full packed! There was barrel-aged beer festival going on when I visited. 16 taps, 1 cask (Southern Tier 2xIPA). Lots of good bottles. Sports on TV. Nice ambiance. Quality place and afaik the only decent place around. |
90 This is the best bar in the Bronx! There's always a large selection of beer on tap and the food is awesome. |
92 Great and constantly changing selection with a couple of staples, such as Weihenstephaner. Great atmosphere - very laid back and casual. Never have to deal with DJs and obnoxious bad music as there is a jukebox and they don’t blare the music. Excellent food and very pleasant servers. This place is amazing!
They will engrave your name on the wall if you have 100 different beers there within a year. |
82 Great selection and variety with a staff of beautiful and knowledgeable bartenders. Location is a pain in the ass to get to though if you’re driving; almost no parking and the area is sketchy at best. |
70 Great place, but the beer selection has turned a littler more pedestrian. When they first opened it was pretty amazing for this part of the Bronx. I’m assuming that they had to come a little more down to earth with the selection due to the location. Not to say I’m not pleased to have them near by.
The food is bar food but on the higher end and very good. The Sunday brunch is tasty and Jason the bartender is on top of things.
My only complaints are that the music is loud at night so don’t plan on having a conversation and on a weekend night they blast hiphop, but that’s just not my thing.
If you want to go there to simply sample beer and have a conversation about it, go on weekend days. Also some of the bartenders aren’t up to par on their beer knowledge.
Brunch really rocks.
