Evenwaardig als Zeezicht !

Visited a while ago but apparently forgot to add my place rating. I can understand why as I wasn’t very satisfied with my visit. The beerlist was disappointing, mostly the usual Belgian suspects and a couple of Dutch brews that I had already rated. Staff isn’t very knowledgeable to say the least. Becasue it’s so easy to find in Breda’s pub area you can easily pay a short visit, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

They have an interesting beer menu, with about 20 beers from Breda (Drie Hoefijzers, Frontaal, Bliksem, Ramses) and a varied selection from (small) Dutch breweries; (almost) no foreign stuff though. The place itself is just average: good ambiance, but can become busy, beer knowledge of the staff is a bit lacking, the food was a bit salty and the fries old. Wouldn’t mind visiting again, but not my first pick.

Update April 2015: the beer menu has again been updated with some new and seasonal beers. Unfortunately some of the prices have gone up by 33%. Previous rating: This place has improved after it’s revamp of a couple of years ago. The beer menu is updated several times per year and is sorted by style. Almost all of the beers served here are Dutch which is nice to see. Service varies depending on how busy it is. SamSam co-host a Wit & Weizen beer festival with Cafe Zeezicht every July.

Een gezellig café op de markt in Breda. Een gevarieerde, niet al te grote, bierkaart. Het personeel is vriendelijk, helaas hebben ze weinig kennis van het speciaal bier.

Nice cafe style bar with terrace in the main square. The bar focuses on Dutch beers. The service was good, but the staff were not knowledgeable about what beers they had on. There were errors in the beer menu and the beers were served in incorrect glasses. The price was expensive too. A good concept which needs some work on

Super great new bar where you find an extensive list of Dutch specialty brews. They change frequently their list of beers so it always will be surprising. Also try their ’Jopen of the month’ or special selection on the Dutch Craft tap.
