82 Good SW option. Plenty of seating options inside or out, always have there solid core beers available, usually 1 or 2 of the wailer series as well. Food has good options for a fussy eater (me). Easily accessible of caves road |
70 Visited during Winter but turned out to be a fine day. You walk in to quite an open area with loads of bar stool type seating with a long bar on your right. Was warm enough to sit outside so did that instead. Nice view of a lake which has a walkway around it. The inside of the place feels a little bit soulless but outside is great on a sunny day. They had their whole range on offer as well as two specialty beers which was good to see. Service was polite and friendly and chatty. Was happy to recommend a beer as well. I would go back here |
76 Well, the negative out the way first - if you could call it a negative. The entrance to this property and the entrance to the cellar door is not unlike any of the other few dozen down Caves road so at first I wasn’t expecting much. Then you enter and a whole new world opens up. It is rough, misplaced, unfinished and industrial that they were after and achieved. Pass the kitchen on the way through to the long bar with the brewery just noticeable like a tease to the patrons behind. Al fresco opens the place right up letting the warmth and smell of Summer in. Furnished to match it gives the place an involved and lively atmosphere. Exceptional beers on tap, including the Southern Wailer series, and takeaways available. Winery cellar/shop off to one side for those privvy to the grape rather than grain. Menu is simple but a few samples later and it gets the tick of approval. Loved it, now only if they had accommodation!? |
