86 One of the best places to enjoy the Japanese craft beers in Tokyo.
Located at the heart of Tokyo, in the middle of Kagurazaka near Iidabashi Station (JR, Metro).
The entrance is a bit difficult to find as the bar is located in the basement, but once inside, comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff makes you want to stay longer.
They provide 18-21 taps of craft beers, specializing in Japan-made ones. There is also a wide variety of food, mainly pub food but also some homemade dishes from the owner chef's kitchen. I especially recommend the Fish and Chips of Japanese sea eel.
The proprietress who always is in the hall is fluent in English, so guests from abroad can also enjoy a comfortable stay.
* They also run a branch in Akasaka-mitsuke, which has 30 taps and more space. |

78 Re-rate/Revisit July 2018 - still the same - decent taplist of mainly Japanese beers. Table charge was about 380 yen and pint was about 850 yen. Good service. Be aware beer list is in Japanese so if you can read katakana you can figure out some of them but those in Chinese characters ask the server. Had Swan Lake, Sanktgallen and Be Easy stuff in when I dropped by. Original rating Oct 30 2014 - Visited on a Thursday night. This is a new bar in Kagurazaka since I was last here and it’s a very welcome addition. 18 beers on tap and on the night I was in they were in tip top form. All Japanese ji-biru, so no imports, which was exactly what I was looking for. All the beers i had were in excellent condition. Staff were friendly and helpful although their is no menu in English so you will have to rely on your Japanese hiragana and katakana or ask the waiter to read the beers out for you. This will be a regular for me in Tokyo and the prices were competitive. Locals are friendly too and their were some English speakers in there and a local lady at the bar who helped me out. 78 |
72 Basement place, low lighting subdued setting with about 40-50 seats. Tap list was modest with a few interesting beers. Prices were great and unlike Craft Beer Market, I feel like you get a full pint of beer here for 780 yen. Food was eclectic, with twists on standard fare, ie. fish and chips was actually Eel and Chips. Reasonably priced food. Not a must visit, but certainly if you are in the Iidabashi/Kagurazaka neighborhood this would be a good stop over. |
74 Nice place with interesting beers. Maybe not always the most exciting ones, but always has some good stuff on. Prices are good, as long as you have enough to work off the cover charge. Both times I have been have been weekend afternoons and the first time it was quiet, but recently was a bit busier. Staff seem keen to please. I like this place, particularly the interesting name. |
68 Hit this on a Sunday afternoon. We were glad they were open so early, ’cuz we were thirsty. Good selection of about 21 beers included a few that are never seen in the capital, like Inuyama and Shiranui. Good variety. Place was empty besides us, though, so it was a bit lonely. Well served beers at very good prices: ¥480 for glass, ¥780 for pint. There is a charge of ¥380 though. I will go back, despite the ridiculous name. |
