Craft și Draft

Located in the middle of pedestrian/beer heaven, a place with high ceilings,, big informative blackboard with a good beer menu, flights available for 30 Lei ( 4 x 150ml) Beer of the month , if you are hungry, there is also a solution for that, burgers and hot dogs, recommendable place (Visited October 11th 2019 with Bryne) ?

After a a very needed evening meal at "City Grill" and two macro beers (New ones, of course!) just to adjust our palate, we were on the craft beer race again. Craft si Draft is also in Strada Gabroveni, which has to be THE beer street in Bucharest! 10 beers on tap, many from Sikaru. A flight was 4 x 15 cl for 30 Lei. Three screens showing sports or pop music (Corona, Oasis, Ricky Martin...) High bar stools and tables. Mini football table and billiards tables. Not bad at all, we enjoyed our stay. Large quiet bar just off the main street in the Old Town. 7/8 keg lines & menu with around 60 bottles & cans. Mostly Romanian craft. Around ½ the beers we chose off the menu weren't available but the guy behind the bar recommended alternatives. Nice to have a game of pool whilst having a beer. Keep the menu up to date guys!

Sikaru brewery tap room in the Old Town on the same street as Bere si Bere, The Hop and Beer O'Clock. Mostly their own beers on tap as expected plus a couple of smaller breweries like Zburatorul. Decent bottle menu, mainly local but a few international choices too. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff.

Noticed this bar for the first time at the east end of Gabroveni, styling itself Bar de Bere Artizanale. Immediately the similarity to the Zaganu brewery tap on Calea Victoriei struck me. Once again - spare, modern with high stools and narrow high tables. Similar in providing outlets for draught beer from a newish Romanian brewer - in this case Sikaru - supplemented by some guest beers (10 taps in total). Scores slightly over the Zaganu version in having a wider selection of bottled Romanian beers (ca 50 in total) plus maybe 20 foreign beers (mainly commonplace Belgian beers). Service was pretty good, though less attentive/efficient than at the Romanian Craft Beer bar (Zaganu). I was there around 1800 before the Old Town livens up. The food comprises burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and nibbles in what seems to be the standard offer in such places. Pool table in prominent place. Very spick and span - this extending to the toilets, though the latter was marred somewhat by having a piped music speaker present - may we please have some areas of comparative silence? My review may seem quite average but only because Craft si Draft seemed to provide little original. What it did provide was good and this certainly increases the choice in the Old Town for those after a higher quality beer.

Très jolie carte de bières exclusivement locales et bonnes, voire très bonnes, avec la possibilité de commander 4 galopins de degustation pour 28 Lei. Service sympathique, avec un petit bemol : à la commande d'un plateau de degustation, les 2 serveurs présents ont eu du mal à identifier les bières servies 3 minutes auparavant. Des planches apero sont disponibles, mais relativement quelconques. Le prix semble élevé pour Bucarest, mais les bières en valent la peine. Un arrêt obligatoire à Bucarest !
