Visited 3/2020. Some homeless people on the streets in the neighbourhood. Huge outdoor patio and long queue for beer inside. Little bit of confusing place and beers were just OK.

Stopped in for lunch and a beer on a chilly Friday. Patio and downstairs taproom were closed, but I had quesadillas and animal juicy and both were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Overall a nice stop.

We came here on 10.6.2019. 2nd last beers stop before watching The Specials the first time. Outside and inside bar offering around 10 beers. Animal Juicy was our favorite. We had good food - octopus and quesadillas. The layout and decoration is weird. The terrace provides an urban feeling, but the whole place feels disorganized. Still worth a visit.

I must have come on an off day. Three flights available, you have to purchase each individual flight if you want to try them all... well, what they didn’t tell us is that a few of their beers repeated in multiple flights. Fuck that - I simply want to try everything you have on tap - not multiple times, once. Waitress drops the flights off and gets confused about what is what... I try to help, she says "no she’s got it," gets it wrong, and then says oh yea, that is the right order (the one I suggested), leaves, and never returns. That’s fine... Anyway, onto the beer. Yuck. Two of them were horrendous, the rest were average at best. Nothing stood out, all seemed to go quite safe (except the shot of vinegar that they called a beer). There’s nothing that’d compel me to return.

From Capitol City Brewing Downtown I took the Metro to Silver Spring. Why? Because I’m a beer place geek! Ooohh, a brewpub in a new state for me. Maybe 10 minutes walking from the Metro station to this brewpub. Nice patio, but to sunny and hot to sit down outside. I found a small table near the bar. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere, only one tv-screen... 3 fixed beer flights (malty, hoppy or sesonal) at $9 for 4 x 4 oz. Ok for me since all beers were new for me, but not sure that local beer geeks agree. The trip to Maryland was well worth the effort! (Visited June 26th 2016)

The place is nice. The outdoor beer garden is great and is dog friendly. Inside there is a pub and a downstairs bar. For the beer garden, you order at an outside bar. The service is a tad slow but in the hot summer months they keep a cooler out to keep you hydrated. Flight are preset in "malty," "hoppy," and another I can’t remember. Decent but really only a way to try their mainstay options; anything interesting or limited you need to either buy a separate taster or a full serving. Not a huge fan of set flights myself. Beer is pretty decent. I didn’t have anything bad, but I didn’t have anything that stood out that I absolutely had again. But the experience at this brewery was good enough I would love to return.

A brewery-beer garden in Silver Spring! A decent newcomer with tasty beers, hearty food and an excellent outdoor beer garden. Live music available certain nights. Not far from the Metro station.

Cool place. Two levels; upper is more of a restaurant while lower is a laid-back pub type space. Sat aty the longish bar. Bartender was friendly though a tad inept at remembering which beers were which in our flight. Eh, it happens. Decent beer and selection of styles. Their barrel-aged beer list had six or seven offerings, expensive. Drafts were pretty reasonable. I will definitely return when in the area.

Visited with DCLawyer on a brewery trip around Northern VA, MD, and DC. Nice brewpub with two floors and a sizable airy patio upstairs. Nice modern look upstairs with the downstairs more of a laid back pub feel. 8 beers on draft available in pre-selected flights and in full pours, we were able to get a flight of all the beers with some talking. Pricey 750 ml bottles to go at $17-19 each, all seemed to be sour or Bretted barrel aged beers. Didn’t try the food but it sounded good from the (small) menu, mostly appetizers, sandwiches, and salads. Not a bad stop if you’re near Silver Spring.

Stopped in about 3PM on a Thursday, place was fairly empty but there were a few people around. They have a large outdoor seating area with picnic style tables and an outdoor bar. Food is by truck, although their kitchen will be opening later in October. They had maybe a dozen beers on tap while I was there, with a couple only available at the outdoor bar. They have flights, but officially they are pre-selected flights of four ("hoppy", "malty" or "specialty"). I was able to make a couple of substitutions off the pre-selected list, however. Server was super friendly and loved to talk about beer. She seemed genuinely confused at some of my comments on the impressions I was getting, which I thought was kind of funny. Beers were all over the place, from kind of bad to decent, with a special Mezcal aged beer that was stellar. All in all it seems like a pretty nice place to hang out. OH, and parking. I was able to find street parking, but bring your quarters. The meters don’t take credit cards, although there is a pay by phone option. There is a basement as well, which was closed when I was there, but apparently was opening later that evening for a comedy show.
