58 The ambiance is really happy, the few beers are allright, but the prices are rather high. (but everything in Disneyland is expensive) |
62 All Karl Strauss the two times I’ve been, but I’ll tell ya what...when you’re walking the parks with kids and in-laws, this place is an OASIS. Marked up, but not stupid expensive. |
58 Now a Karl Strauss truck/bar. Nothing exotic. Lots of seating. :) |
48 Well not much exciting here, but I guess if you need a decent beer then why not. After seeing 3 drunk guys get in a fight while waiting in line for a ride, including seeing a knife get pulled, I did rethink my previous appreciation for having craft beer available. |
60 8 beers on tap, all Karl Strauss. Some of the reviews say this shouldn’t be a place. But this is exactly what a place entry should be, find me beer (other than BMC) when in a place I’m not familiar with! |
64 Visited late afternoon during a visit to California Adventure / Disneyland. I was happy to locate this spot, as much of Disney has pretty much zero beer. The selection was the Wheat, Pale Ale, IPA, Amber Lager and maybe the Red. It’s a beer cart, so service was step up, get your beer, move along. There was plenty of shaded seating all around, and made for a pleasant break during the inevitably long Disney day - certainly far better than I was expecting. Of the three beers I had / shared with my wife, all were fresh and in great condition. |
66 Hey! Craft beer at Disneyland? Thank you Lord! I had the Karl Strauss Wheat. It was tasty. |
68 There are two beer places in California Adventure. One is on the wharf next to the margarita stand and serves several Karl Strauss beers. I have no idea how Karl got such a good deal with Disney... the other is around the bay past the roller coster and other rides and has Sierra Nevada Pale ale and a few other beers in addition to a Karl seasonal. A pint is seven bucks, which is pretty cheap considering you are in a Disney park. Had a pint of Karl Strauss Fullsuit Belgian Brown Ale and it was in good shape. Oh, and the margarita bar is shit. I don’t even think they put tequila in what tasted like lime slushees. The bar at Ariel’s Grotto looked like it had a few good beers on tap (I at least saw a Karl handle 0_o) but it’s pretty hard to get into when all the little girls are lining up for their princess lunch. If you are going to hit Downtown Disney, the bar in the middle of the walkway has some local and other good beer selections as well. Overall, I’m surprised at the beer quality that Disney offers, though there is still no alcohol at all in Disneyland proper, even at Blue Bayou when you are paying 30 dollars for an entree... |
30 Whatever.... why is this place being rated? Not worthy of any attention. |
62 Are you kidding me with this place entry? It’s a beer cart in an open air food court!!! Then again, we all paid $60 cover to get in so we have damn sure earned the right to write about it. Only Karl Strauss, only 8 oz pours, and usually stale beer. Also screaming kids, which forces you to have multiple beers. What a place indeed. |
