This is in an old stand alone brick building. Inside it is basically one big room with a high ceiling. There are plenty of tables and the atmosphere is chill. Servers were friendly and attentive. They had quite a few strange beers (which I like) and the ones I tried were tasty. Prices were average. If I lived downtown, I'd probably visit this place irregularly to check out any new beer they have. Recommended

Double Shift is in a stand-alone building back a little from the street, next to Border and across from iTap in the brewery-heavy Crossroads neighborhood of KC. It's a nice space, inviting and well appointed if not super unique for a brewery, with a bar and some tables in front and the operation in back, under a high ceiling. There were 10 beers on tap when I visited and they're pretty good, much better than Border's beer next door. Prices are slightly higher than there, but worth it. Service was friendly and attentive. There were 4 bottles available to go, but all were on tap at the time. No food available, but plenty of options nearby. Recommended while you're making the rounds in Crossroads or the broader KC area.

From the outside Double Shift looks likes it's in a pretty small building, but it feels comfortable and not overly cramped once inside. This ended up being one of the stand outs during my trip to KC. The quality was certainly at least on par with the other very good breweries we visited, but Double Shift had a few stranger beers that still tasted cohesive and were a pleasure to drink. Given its proximity to other worthy beer establishments, this should be visited if doing a beer tour in the city.

Visited late afternoon on a Friday with my family. Located next door to Border Brewing and across the street from Grinders. They have a small parking lot in front of the building, or street parking around the area. The interior is clean and has an open design, with 6 picnic tables and 10 or so seats at the bar. 6 beers on draft, covering a nice range of styles. Some small snacks are available. Friendly service. Great to have another brewery on the scene. Certainly worth hitting if you have time, and you are in the area for Torn Label, Grinders, Border, etc.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.
