68 Had to check. Yes, it was 10/08/20. I had not stepped into a time machine. Worn but friendly, as was the guy who I guess was the barman. Two ticks from 5 beers. All East Anglian. There was an old Norwich Brewery pump and I suspect it had been there since the last time the bar was redecorated. Not particularly busy but it's away from the centre. The other customers were a mixture of regulars - OAPs and PE teacher as far as I could tell. Old school local freehouse. |
100 Great pub for real ale. That's what it's all about. No frills just a proper real ale boozer. What more can you ask for. Would be perfect with longer opening hours |
88 Fantastic pub, offering a continually changing variety of local ales. You go there to drink beer, and meet friends, no music, electronic games, or lager! Bar snacks, but not food . |
70 Just go there how can i say this oh yes GREAT BEER. |
94 Regional PUB of the YEAR 2010 as voted by the East Anglian branches of CAMRA. One of the top 3 beer pubs in Bury St. Edmunds and well worth a visit. |
