Called in last week and chose Dark Revolution Atomic and Shakespeare (North Cotswold I believe) The Othello. Love this friendly microbar and enjoyed chatting with the owner. A bus ride out for us, but easy enough to include on a Bristol crawl.

I cannot believe that the Drapers has not been on Ratebeer since its inception at the end of 2016. This is Bristol's premier micropub. Ultra-simple, lacking all music, attracting only those who wish to speak for a hobby, serving almost entirely cask ales served straight form the barrel and free from all pretension.

Bristol’s first micro-pub, close to the Memorial Ground. Ashley Down brewery has a share in the business, which explains why 5 of the 7 beers on offer (served straight from the barrel) were provided by it. The others were from BBF and Towles. Staff were chatty and efficient. There is seating for about 25 people and standing room for a lot more. Food amounted to some pleasant cheese and onion rolls, scotch eggs and pork pies. I shall return.
