56 Okay selection of a lot of spanish beers. Few Gastro options as well. There's a supermarket right next to the Corte Ingles alcohol section as well. |
62 Nice department-store with a nice (but not really local) selection. Prices are not too bad. Also in their wine-section you can find lots of nice Spanish Cavas at good prices (in comparison to other supermarkets).

60 On the 6 th flor of El Corte Ingles you fidn a supermaretk with about 20-30 spanish micros, some rare british beer, quite a lot of Belgium beer ( some rare) and german beer as well. Outside the supermarket ( still on the 6 floor, you find more british beers in a shop with British products only. Next to this shop you will find a delicatesse shop with another 10-15 spanish micros.
If you are new to spanish micro- there is a lot of interest. If you have tasted some, be sure there are still something of interest. |
70 As a matter of fact, it’s the biggest selection of Spanish micros I’ve seen in all big supermarkets all around Spain, plus some of the foreign beers, even limited editions. Minus is that there are no cooled beers, and since we did not have refrigerator in Bilbao... Much more than 30 different beers, I would say like 100 or more, if you count also cheap regular macro stuff. |
54 Huge department store on one of the main shopping streets in the newer town area of Bilbao. There is a decent sized supermarket which is unusual in that it is the 6th floor when most department stores based supermarkets are normally on the lower ground floors. However I believe that area is reserved for the car park on this occasion. There is reasonable though not exhaustive list of Spanish beers with some other European beers, mostly German or Belgian providing the bulk of these. There is a small shop on the same floor opposite the entrance to this shop which sells more ’select’ products and whilst the wine range was a much more discerning range with one or two bottles at over 2,400 Euro’s they totally missed a trick with the beers, there were one or two here but nothing that you couldn’t get just as easily elsewhere. Back to the main store there was also a couple of Basque & Asturain ciders which was also a bit low when compared to the Eroski and Carrefour supermarkets who all seemned to stock at least 8-12 different types. Worth popping into if in Bilbao but for a more interesting selection of beers the large Carrefour en route to the port offers a similar but more interesting selection of Spanish beers. |
