74 A pour your own place with a trendy feel and a TVs throughout the spot. Place can get quite busy before/after Twins games. Service is fine. They have 48 taps and all is self pour so sampling is easy. Food is pretty good and prices are high as it is self pour. A good spot for ticking. |
72 Tickers will love this - I did. 17 ticks in under 2 hrs and under 15 bucks. |
64 We hit this place just before the Twins home opener nearby. Good news - everyone was at the game. Bad news - it was tough finding parking. Once inside the ambiance was open and a bit industrial. The beers on tap were heavily local, which was exactly what I wanted. Two hours and 15 ratings later the throngs from the Twins game came and we left. American efficiency at its finest. |
80 This is tickers' paradise - pour your own beer, as little as you want. If you've done this type of thing before, you know what to expect; if not, you pay for a wrist-band, you grab a glass, and you pour your own beer. You can manage to pour < 1 oz and get lots of ratings for cheap. Beer list itself is nothing special, but there were a few things of noteworthiness. Must-stop for filthy tickers. |
80 I like these pour your own places; tickers paradise. A block from Fulton, which makes it an easy detour. 48 taps, although a dozen or so are devoted to wine, Kombucha and the like. Nice selection, including CBS while I was there. They have food, but I did not partake. Friendly staff. The guy spilled ketchup on me while we were chatting about beer and he was "midwest mortified." I was good humored about it. Ended up getting my entire tab comped, which was pretty generous of them IMO. Definitely a place to tick. |
80 There have been a few "pour your own" concepts coming through Minneapolis recently, but I'm not sure how many are still around. Check in with a license and card that are tied to a wristband. Swipe the band on a digital board above the tap to open pouring. It shows how many ounces you've poured and how many are left in the keg. That part is not always accurate, as I missed out on one it claimed still had about 20oz left, but it's accurate enough. There were about 40 beers, 5 ciders, and 5 wines on tap when I was in. Solid mix of hoppy, malty, and sour options. Pricing is a bit all over, but expected: $.50/oz for something like Waconia Peanut Butter Porter, but $1.10 for Wild Minds Puff the Passion Dragon. Could be crazy expensive if you're pouring full glasses, however, you can pour yourself a $4 sample of something that costs $20 a bottle. Could easily get out of control and not realize what you've spent. Food options looked good: burgers, upscaled-midwest staples, etc, between $10-15. Service is hard to judge because, well, you're the server, but the staff was helpful. Good mix of locals and national breweries. Wouldn't be my new steady bar, but a very nice option. |
