Visit Date: 8/25/2019: I'd been meaning to come here for years, and hadn't gotten around to it, but we were in the area, so I finally made it in. This place has changed quite a bit since the last review took a stab at it. First off, they no longer do their occasional opening only when they have beer thing, now they are open regular hours (Visit us: Wed & Thurs 5-8 pm, Fri 4-9 pm, Sat 12-8 pm & Sun 1-5 pm.) Also, they have a lot more taps than they used to (taplist is here: https://taplist.io/taplist-85127) . Multiple sizes to drink in plus growler and crowler fills - everything can be found on the taplist link. We stopped in early on a Saturday afternoon, and were the only ones there when we arrived, but were joined by about 15-20 more people through our visit (some staying for a drink, some just filling growlers and crowlers). Small warehouse style place with the garage doors open. Picnic tables sit in the middle right where they brew when they aren't open to the public. Great conversation about their beers and lots of other stuff with Billy (Flounder's cousin I think) who was working the tap lines on our visit. Really friendly guy. Beers were really tasty. Lots of lower ABV (mostly in the 4%-7% range) offerings and a couple featuring honey. There's definitely a similar character that transfers between many of the beers. My favorite of the visit was the Iced Coffee Stout that was legitimately world class level good. Just a perfect summer stout. Other beers I tried were quite tasty as well. If it was more convenient to me I would go here often, and though its a little out of the way, I would happily go back.

Flounder has come a long way in a short time. I was fortunate to be able to secure my self a spot for last night’s tastings. They have already increased from a 1bbl to a 4bbl system...so they are now able to have more varieties at one time. Last night they had 7 beers which the owners said were the most they’d had at one time so far. Their flagship beer called Hill St. Honey is very good. Given this is not usually a favorite style of mine that’s saying something from me. My favorites were probably the Pumpkin Saison (although the more traditional Floundering Pumpkin is great too), and the Espresso Brown...which had an amazing fresh coffee aroma and taste. The family that runs Flounder are great people (2 brothers, a cousin, and a wife), and it’s easy to see they are very proud of what they have accomplished so far, and are working hard to further grow and improve their business. I highly recommend you support their business...although keep in mind that for the next few months at least you will need to get on their mailing list to get the advanced notice you will need to sign up for one of their tastings. They told me that yesterday’s tastings (eight one-hour sessions from noon to 7PM) filled up in 24hrs! Congrats to you Flounder...

Small nano. Only open sporadically and you need to sign up on their website. Beers were solid with an excellent sour saison. Friendly staff and brewer. Worth it.
