A cool, colourful, bric-a-brac decorated taproom under the railway arches. Outdoor seating in front of the arches. A tap line of 11 beers, about half of them from Forest Road. No beer flights, we shared half-pints. Good youthful vibe on a Wednesday eve. Among others, we met people from Two Tribes brewery who invited us over to their place in Camden (see my review from 22. November). The Forest Road Taproom is located further south of central Hackney and close to the new Five Points Taproom (opened in late November '21). (Visited with Finn 17.11.2021).

Not much to write home about. Forest Road does very few different beers, so don't expect to find any/many specials here. They have the occasional interesting guest beer, though. Ambiance and style is modern brewery tap railway arch. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit this place.

In Netil Lane, which is essentially an alleyway running south of Westgate Street along the railway arches, the Forest Road tap room occupies half of one of these just a few paces down it. Presumably the brewing operation is in the other part. Looking something like an Hawaiian imitation bar, it has multi offerings of its own beer on the back wall. I asked if they did a sample tray and the best they could do was six half pints for the price of six half pints, and I don't think she was even trying to be ironic in her reply!

Stumbled across this place while trying to find Plato. Located under a railway arch next to the mini market in which Plato was located. No sign of any brewing so I assume its still brewed at Van Eecke in Belgium then transported across. A couple of Belgian beers feature incl. Hommelbier on 1 of 4 taps
