54 Selection is average. Except for a couple of beers that are more rare that I saw, everything here can be found at any decent liquor store. Their selection of bombers is thin. On the bright side, they have a lot of refrigerator space, so you can find something that is already cold. I would say that this is just your average liquor store. |
54 a bit of a dumpy liquor store, staff is always surprised that a "beer" could cost as much as it does. Selection is not bad but nothing special. Freshness can be questionable. |
54 solid selection of sixers including lots of Three Floyd’s... the single bottle selection is weak, nothing you can’t get anywhere else... solid place but nothing you need to visit |
46 This place sucks when DiCarlo is down the road...mediocre selection for the area considering what is available...mediocre service too... |
56 The place has a decent enough selection if you’re in a clinch, but I recommend that you stay in the car a while longer and drive to DiCarlo’s in Mundelein. |
60 Decent place. Micros are OK ( Bells, North Coast, 3F, Captial, Anchor, Sierra, Goose Island). Beer is one aisle on six pack display, very haphazard. Middle case display with Point Brewery a major player. Coolers in back. Above standard Euro beers, but limited. Manager will question about Bells offering a wheat series in winter and the price of GI reserve but store is clearly catered toward liquor/wine crowd. DiCarlo’s is 15 minutes away, Mickey Finns/ Firkins 5 minutes, unless pressed for time there is no reason to stop here. |
82 I’ve been to this place a number of times before I had discovered the wonders of DiCarlo’s. Yesterday, I visited for the first time in over six months and I was very impressed to see the large expansion of domestic microbrews in this place. Small but impressive selection of foreign brews. Found a number of items that I can’t get at DiCarlo’s such as Bells Wheat 4 ale and Goose Island Special Reserve Imperial IPA. Salespeople are helpful and the beer sections are well-lighted and maintained. This place is worth a visit. |
