62 Food rather than beer takes centre stage. Not a bad selection, my Artifex Trigger Finger IPA was nice. |
74 Nice selection of bottled beers in addition to the rotating taps. Food is good and service very nice. |
82 Great place with a pretty large selection of bottles. The food is good, but it’s pretty expensive. Service was great and had a really nice atmosphere, overall I liked it. |
74 Visited several times over the years and never stayed much longer than the time it took to finish one beer. The first trip was the worst and that waswith womencantsail. The place was packed and there was no where to even stand near the bar. After some time we just walked out. Since then I’ve been back a couple of times, usually when across the circle at Bruery Provisions picking up Reserve Society allocations (haven’t been back since they moved the pickups to the brewery) and for a quick half pint. They have a pretty good tap line up, albeit eclectic. Great for trying new beers if you don’t mind risking a pint of bad beer. Prices are high on beer and bordering on obnoxious for food, which I haven’t tried yet. Go at a slower time and you can actually get some service. |
86 Great place to stop if you’re circling Orange looking for a drink or bite.
Nice bottle selection and a good draft list, too. Service was on point and timely. Didn’t eat, so nothing to say on that front.
They were out of a few things listed, so don’t get your hopes too high. Otherwise, a nice stop for a local or traveler. |
76 Gastropub located at the south end of the Oragne Circle. Food is pretty good, but you certainly pay for it. Beer list is good as well. Pretty good rotation on the taps, which is nice. Good service and a nice ambiance to the place. |
88 **Sidenote: I am a longtime patron of this establishment, so my experience with service may be different.
I love to be at this place. Many people refer to it as somehow pretentious or uninviting. I think that is certainly a valid point, depending on when you and go and can be attributed to how they have changed over the years.
The interior is very nice and seemingly lowkey (anytime other than a saturday or friday night). My experience with the service is that they are friendly and knowlegable, but again, that may be biased. Chef Greg is a genius when it comes to finding new ways to reinvent pub food. They have one of the best burgers anywhere, and the truffle fries, mac n cheese, oxtail poutine or out of this world.
The beer selection, unfortunately, has declined and the prices have increased. This is the biggest downside. They still have a great selection, especially when it comes to brews from Shipyard and the occasional rare sour on tap. The prices, however, are way off par for what you get. |
84 Located on the same street as Bruery Provisions I decided to have some dinner while in town. Food was excellent. The chef there really knows what he is doing. I got the house burger which was cooked perfectly, juicy and full of flavor. My lady got the house made buffallo wings and those were really good too. Some good brews on tap and good bottles. |
74 Went here for a late dinner on a Thursday night and had the chicken and waffles. They have an above average selection of brews on tap and in bottles. Our waiter was friendly and seemed to know at least a little bit about good beer. Prices were a bit high on food and booze but quality was high as well. Overall a nice addition to the very cool downtown Orange area. |
70 A nice and different take on a beer bar. The overall ambiance of the restaurant fits in well with the "Old Town" area. bartender and wait staff are friendly and attentive but not very beer knowledgeable. Beer selection is very good, for they have limited brews and many a new beer I had not tried before. This is not the place to order a Corona. Food was decent, the Value was a bit pricey. I would visit again if in the area. |
