Hotel-Gasthof Wilde Rose

Did stay at the hotel one year.

Visited later in the evening, staff was ready to go home, and were already plating up for breakfast, seemed uninterested at their job, beers ok, prices ok, if you can visit, by all means.

A cozy restaurant in the old town. They have their own beers (and you can get 0.25l pours) and some good, but not perfect traditional food. Prices are fair and service is very quick. Worth a visit.

Ambiance - Fairly cozy German style tavern in central Bamberg. visited fairly late on a Saturday evening and it wasnät very full and the mood was fairly sleepy.
Service - Prompt and friendly.
Selection - Had a few of their own beers available that were quite nice.
Food - Did not eat.
Value - Very fair.

Restaurant and bar in the Old Town of Bamberg. Nice and efficient service. We had three of their beers and they were all amazing. Definitely worth a visit when in Bamberg.

A rather up-scale hotel and restaurant. Still, I went in at 10:30 am and was the only one there, but no one complained about me ordering 300 ml of each of their 4 tap beers. Quick service and good beers. Got to like the small size too if you are sampling lots in a few days.

Went there under recommendation from locals met at Spezial’s. Food is ok, beer too. They told me it’s probably the cheapest wirtshaus in Bamberg. I cannot confirm it, anyway it was worth to go there and have their Schäuferla washed down with a good keller

Visited on day 2 of the Bamberg Post Xmas Jolly - 25/01/14. Rocked up around 2220 so still some time from closing but initially the young waitress didnt want to serve us. Put this down to a German expectation that we wanted a hot meal and 3 litres of bier! After explaining we wanted one of each house beer and we’d be done in 20 minutes all was fine. Located in the altstadt, 5 mins walk from Kloster or Schlenkerla, Wilde Rose is a largeish single roomed affair, lots of wood typical 80’s German feel. The place was empty, 2 or 3 other folks finishing up who seemed to know the server. Service was fine once we explained our situation. 4 house beers avaiable (brewed by Keesman) - all ok, none outstanding. Worth going for the ticks as close to other venues but not a go to destination.

Came here late, just at closing. After making clear that we weren’t there to just drink beer and get drunk, but to try what they had, we were allowed to stay and sample what they have. A few solid beers from their own brewery. Not hard to get to from the other pubs, so worth a visit just to try a few of their own beers while heading to another place.
