84 I found service great, being asked for help multiple times and getting suggestions on brews to try. Lots of international craft beers without the usual lagers. Good enough selection for the area, although a bit pricey. Worth the trip Found 3 of RB’s top 50 for Australia. |
44 This is one weird bottle shop. Used to be the best and now it really has taken a dive. Super cluttered with plenty of old wine floating about. Service is very poor considering the type of store they are. Have never been asked if I have needed help despite spending lengthy periods of time in the shop. Still a good range but need to work on moving some of the older beers. I thought there would be a marked improvement when they moved locations but it’s basically the exact same shop. Odd really. Will be giving my business to Mane or Carlisle |
70 Ayo, staff, pull your finger out and ask some fucking questions. e.g "would you like some help?" or, if less classically inclined "hey man, this beer - i tried it the other day - soooo good" ffs guys have some pride. other than that selection is good, price is on the money too.
Update 5/2/15 - Much better on my last visit, service was good, questions were asked, a much better experience |
50 Ehhhh. Yeah. Fuck. Nah. But, all things being equal, I’d rather be in Philadelphia. |
64 Great range, friendly service, I will be back again. |
30 Since new management took over there’s been a marked decline in all aspects of this shop. This used to be a great place to spend time salivating over the choices but not now. I just get in and out as soon as poss. And seems even more expensive than it used to be - was always pricey but forgave that due to the choice and the friendly service. Seems far more English beer than before and way less American and NZ. As a pale ale fan, I’m going to take my business to Mane. The recent purchase of crappy Founders Centennial (rated 99 but obviously here in poor condition) sealed that deal. |
54 Only been here a few times and haven’t really been acknowledged by the staff on entry which is a bit piss poor. Good selection of beers but maybe some more urgency from the staff might bring a better craft beer buying experience |
66 Good selection, however, seemingly uninterested staff who don't acknowledge you on entry and lacking some ambience/presentation. |
78 Very good range, similar to a few places, very helpful over email. Prices here seem to be slightly higher on average than a few other places I have bought beer from. However somewhere where I do buy beer from a few times a year (would buy from IBS more regularly if i lived closer). |
