Jackie O’s Production Facility & Taproom

I guess. I mesed this one up, going to the brewery instead of the downtown tap room. It was a rainy day and there was no inside seating, so it was a damp session. Was still able to snag a small flight. Service was good. Beer was very good. Enough taps to keep you interested. The inside part did look nice, but would definitely like to check out the downtown taproom.

'Only' 16 taps here but what a selection! At least 7 of the taps today are barrel-aged beers. All three of these that I tried were masterful. Besides, there are quite a few additional choices available in cans and bottles.

Jackie O’s is my favorite brewery in the country. I realize I have not been to many on the West Coast, so I’ll say East of the Mississippi. Great selection of great beers. the Production Facility is smaller than the downtown spot and closes at 9pm so beware of that. I like the fact it’s small and has it’s own personality. Not as many of the experimental small batch here as there is at the downtown spot, but really well done. A must stop.

A huge production facility with a small comfy tap house that has an older and more local vibe. Service was awesome, they knew their stuff and let us try almost everything without even ordering a flight. Of course a big selection of beers along with wines and even mead. Prices were solid and in my opinion a much better and more relaxed stop that the pub.

Stopped by on a random trip to pick up a few bottles. The server was very chill and friendly. She was attentive to "everyone" and their needs too. The place looked like an average taproom. It felt cozy and was kept up nicely. The locals were inviting too. The tap list was accommodating with different styles. I enjoyed the bottles that were available to go. Most "average" taprooms do not offer to go bottles or if they do there is only one selection to choose from. Before I was about to leave a guy from the production facility came out and invited a hand full of people to go on a tour of the place. I jumped at the offer. The guy was very passionate about his job and enjoyed sharing his time for us in between his duties. I am truly glad a took the time to journey here.

Great experience at the production facility tasting room. Solid selection, nice people, good service, friendly smiles, fun atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Athens.

Had nothing but a great time visiting this place during Muckfest (and Ohio Beer Week) 2014. The brewmaster, owner and one employee helping at the bar could not have been any friendlier or more accommodating. A lot of free beer with a great verbal introduction to each. A fantastic tour of the brewery and new barrel aging program and facility. I don’t know who arranged it, but a boatload of killer pizza was delivered for all of us to eat. Some bottles available for purchase and carryout. A lot of IPAs on tap and I’m not a hop head, but just a stellar staff and facility.

On my third or fourth trip to Athens, it was my first time visiting the production facility. The place looks like a red barn from the outside. The tasting room is roomy, with an L-shaped bars and some tables. A fridge in the back has cans and bottles to go. There are 8 taps, and usually only 1-2 things you won’t find at the brewpub downtown, from my understanding. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, as is Jackie-O’s whole vibe. The production facility in back is cool, and gives them a lot more room to crank stuff out. There is a big barrel room here, too, but none of the sour barrels; those are back in the basement of the brewpub/public house (this place also helps manage QC). While the brewpub/public house is one of my favorite places in the world to sit down at the bar, relax, and work my way through some beers, I’m going to try to always make a point of stopping in here, too, when I’m in town.

This was not here last time I was in Athens 3 years ago so this was a nice find. Industrial-ish vibe and very small, especially for a production facility. Inside is a bar and several tables made from barrels and such. 10 beers on tap, including one that wasn’t available at the other two tap rooms, as well as bottles and cans to go. Customer service kinda sucked. The bartender never checked in on me even though I was trying to get her attention and they lost out on sales as a result as I probably would have gotten a growler. To be fair, though, she said to someone else she didn’t normally bartend. Prices were the same and in line with the other two locations a coiple bucks per 5 ounce sample. Beer quality was excellent, of course. Bottles available here not available at the other locations, at my visit, 4 limited 375s and the regular beers in cans. Limited amount of parking, but it doesn’t look like it gets too bad. Friendly brewery dog which always improves a score for me. Overall, this is an essential stop in Athens, as is every Jackie O’s location.
