68 We came here on 26.11.2021 (Black Friday). First beers on our 2021 Chicago trip. Long bar with an ok beer selection. Had Pale Ales from Revolution Brewery and 21st Amendment and a Surly Furios West Coast IPA (100 IBU). Service was not very attentive, but a good start of our vacations. |
72 You go here for the BBQ, not the beer. The beer is solid - you'll probably see something you haven't had before but it won't blow your mind, but there's enough solid stuff here where you won't feel like you ruined a beer trip getting some good food either.
BBQ is spectacular though. Get the Super Hot wings. Onion rings also excellent. |
60 Decent tap selection but nothing I have not seen elsewhere. Average prices. Service was attentive enough and the wings were excellent. Recommend as a fine casual place to hang out if not specifically for craft beer. |
70 A pretty decent brewpub. Applebees-esque interior, but with a solid tap list. Didn’t have any of the food, but the menu looked pretty good. |
64 Dive bar/cabin atmosphere. Bar in for me an obscure part of town. They offer samplers IIRC, didn’t have food. Draft list is middle of the road for chicago though they did have abunch of oddball vivant beers specifically made for them when i went years ago. |
72 Fairly big place at a very central location. Very busy when I visited on a Monday. Tap selection was fairly good, bottle list seemed short, with a small selection on paper and a "reserves" list on the wall. Food was plentiful and good enough and staff was nice although a bit stressed. |
86 I was really impressed by this place. It was very close to my hotel, had a really interesting tap list, and the wood grilled wings were quite tasty as well. The bartender was excellent. She did an amazing job of checking on a full bar full of people and filling the waitresses orders as well. She also seemed to know her beer, which is always a plus at a bar like this. I’ll return for sure. |
78 If you are staying near the Magnificent Mile and want excellent beer, come here. The Map Room and Hopleaf are booth better beer destinations, but are quite a cab ride away. the tap selection, quality, and variety here would make any beer geek happy. The only food I tried was the fire roasted artichoke and it was delicious. My server was very knowledgable and attentive without being overbearing. I’ll be back. |
80 wings & ribs & great beer selection. Stone Bourbon Barrel smoked porter & RIS!!! Nice belgian selection, De Proef KO, Dieu de Ciel on tap, Struise/Stillwater collab on tap. Bartender was great & willing to dole out samples. Good spot towatch games |
76 So, finally made into Melnick’s and must say I’m very impressed. The beer lines are clean, very extensive selection and in what is a beer desert of sorts, save this place. Excellent wints and they do a lot of events. Constantly rotating selection. I’ll definitely be back. |
