L’Osteria di Birra del Borgo

Large brewpub located near Vatican. Large patio in front. Modern clean interior with lots of light. Long bar in the front area and a big round beer bar in the back. More than 20 taps ranging from their core beer to some special brewed at the location. Some casks as well. I've noticed bunch of bottles behind the front bar not sure if these are only to-go. We were the only guests in the establishment so not much of an ambiance. Hopefully it's better later on, our visit is in the early afternoon. The beers I had were underwhelming so that's another minus in my book. Wanted to eat here,but kitchen opens later in the day.

Convenient location for a pit-stop after visiting the Vatican museums. Fair sized brewpub with decent selection, especially from the mother brewery, but also some made on site. Surprisingly empty and quiet, but I guess our visit was in between the lunch and the dinner visitors (even before aperitivo), so kitchen was closed and they only had some more basic snacks, but as I was happy with just beer that was certainly not an issue. Friendly and fairly attentive staff and a rather relaxed atmosphere. Also good selection of bottles to go and other things from Birra del Borgo.

Visited the first time on Friday afternoon, March 22, 2019. First time in Rome, and was not on a beer hunt, though was close by after we toured the Vatican museums, so dropped by for some small food and a few beers. Rather big, modern looking place, though not very crowded, perhaps we were just early? They had a good amount of taps on, most from their brewery, some of which were brewed on site, also some colabs and beers from friends. A tasting of 5 beers of your choice, perhaps 15-20 cl per beer, was €15. I had some meatballs with bread, my wife did two small dishes, sampled 2 flights of total 10 different beers. Also got a T-shirt for €15, bill ended up at €58. Fast attentive service, also very knowledgeable and gave good info about each beer. Good spread of various styles, not just all lagers and IPAs. Happy we could stop by and a place I'd be glad to return to if on Rome again.

Stunning modern spot that is well air conditioned. Flights, wifi and typical great service. Lots of taps and a bunch of good guests as well. Beer was pretty solid. Not too expensive considering and a full food menu. Long hours and open during the whole day. Solid spot.

Large modern taproom with restaurant in the back. 15 taps of their own brews and 10 guest taps. The quality of the beers is fine but in no way over the top. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow. Rather expensive but this is located 250 meters from the Vatican

Veru moderne but ok cozy large reastarant. Lots of barplaces. 22 taps of high quality. 12 Del Borgo and 12 guests, Mostly italian microes. Realy nice selection. Food was very good. This is a place to travel for. we were offered a sample of a an experimental barrel impy stout not yet on the market. Great place.

Despite the whole InBev discussion, this is a very fine example of a craft beer + food restaurant. Had a great time there, everything was well presented. Decent Borgo seletion with decent list of guests taps - wait, no InBev acquisitions? Food was well presented, open kitchen with all pasta made on-site. Waiter was very friendly, opened several bottles to share and even offered a place of panetonne. Only had a minor issue with the pasta-ravioli which although prepared on order came out cold for some of them. They changed it and gave me another serving. Amphoras of aged beers at the entrance.
