80 Visited in November 2019. Lovely to visit such an atmospheric place that happens to brew great beers too. Was quiet when I visited but I sensed it being a cosy place during quiet times and a lively place during busier times. The fact it is opposite Keesmann is a welcome bonus! Beer heaven would look something like this. |
68 Visited later in the evening. Large and a bit dark biergarten with what seemed like a lots of room inside (not used due to the pandemic situation). Selection was limited to 4 beers, but the quality was bit disappointing. Especially after walking for about 20 minutes to it. |
68 Visited on a Monday night at about 7 and were lucky to get a spot in the Biergarten without having to queue up. Shortly after our arrival, there was pretty much permanently a line. Did not eat but drank two beers, the Helles and a Pils, both of which were far above average for the style and pleasant drinking on a warm summer evening. Service was friendly if a bit inattentive. |
82 2019 July. So, where to begin... From the traditional local breweries, these guys are the most daring - on our visit theirs beer list boasted some liquids totally influenced by global craft brewing - dry hopping, mora daring amount of hops, exotic hops and so on. So if you are looking for some local product, which is not a) rauchbier b) U c) or any kind of traditional lager thats a place to go to. That's why for selection they get "15". We were quite dissapointed, that we were not allowed to stay indoors - in this way you cannot appreciate the awesome interiors and surroundings - and were forced to sit inbiergarten is biergarten. On the other hand, the lady serving our table was daring enought, to bring us some table water (it was 35 degrees celsius outside in the shadow, god have mercy) - which is almost a miracle by german standarts. To conclude - a place to go if you would love to try something local (excluding rauchbier) with a nice twist of craft beer influence. |

78 Visited in August 2019 on a 5-day Bamberg and surroundings trip with Caesar. Interesting specials. Sat outside the entire time. It was so crowded we had to wait in line first to get a table. Took a while to order as well but given how crowded it was that was no surprise. Definitely enjoyed the beers and atmosphere. Very much recommended. |
80 A small walk outside of the center but not really outside so easy to get to. Sat down inside for one "aU" which was solid and smooth. Bigger place overall, big beergarden outside. |
88 Visited two days in a row. Once we sat outside and once inside. Close to the center as is about everything else here, spacious but not grand, about a dozen beers available. Typical service and prices for the selection. Real star are the beers obviously, amazing condition & I am quite a fan of this brewery so really enjoyed my time here. Highly recommended. |
66 Sunday 9th Sep 2018, lunchtime. Sat on the first table on entering the Biergarten. Looked inside before returning to our slot outside, nice bar room to the right, but the sun was out, so we thought outside was the best option. Four beers on tap (I think), my two were lovely. Friendly service, good food, my Wild Boar dish was awesome. Nice experience all round. |
