Were told by our rental car guy to try this place. Food was great, jucy lucy burgers rock, a few decent beers, but small selection. Lots of rules because of all the people trying to get into this small venue. Worth it for the jucy lucy, not the beer. It is truly a dive. It has a picture of Obama shaking hands with the cook.

Not exactly a beer destination but the Jucy Lucy is good. A dive bar with patrons from all walks of life, this cash-only establishment claims to have originated the cheese-in-the-meat cheeseburger. They offer a few micro brews in addition to your standard macro lagers.

Not really a beer place. They have their standard taps and decent prices on pitches. It’s all about the Jucy Lucy. Now that I’ve been to the 5 8 club I can say matts has the Lucy.

This place is rightfully famous in Minneapolis for it’s Jucy Lucy hamburger. However, this is not a beer destination, and it’s very borderline whether it should be on the site or not. (In my place ranking scale, this qualifies as a 52). In case you visit, here is the tap list you can expect: Sierra Nevada Torpedo, Newcastle Brown, Blue Moon, Summit EPA, McNeils Seasonal (didn’t ask what it was), Bells Two Hearted, Grain Belt Premium.

Nothing here as far as beer, and the 5-8, and The Nook do a better Juicy Lucy. This should not be on Ratebeer.

Other than the Juicy Lucy, not really a place that should be in the database. A dive bar located in the heart of S. Minneapolis.

This is all you need to know about the food: http://www.mattsbar.com/pictures/page2.html

About a half dozen taps. Mostly swill. They do Have Summit EPA on tap though. A decent place to eat a greasy burger with a molten core of cheese and knock back a few Grain Belt’s. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing especially beer related about this place except for the fact that I had my first glazed doughtnut in a glass here. The only this on the order worth ordering is the Jucy Lucy. Careful, don’t bite into it too quickly. You will burn the CRAP out of your mouth. Fortunately I had a friend watching out for me and I started with small bites. A burger, a basket of fries, and a pitcher of premium will sit well with two people.
