64 Pretty cool place. A big central city center (for McMinville) location. Nice rooftop bar. Usual McMenamins offerings. The food took forever on the roof top, over an hour. Otherwise, a solid place. Cool decor and nice views. |
68 Stayed one night at the hotel, 26/8/2013. Funky, fascinating place to visit/stay. Was hoping to make use of the large roof top patio, but the rain soon put an end to that. Sat in the bar instead, which wa cramped due to the rain outside. Beer selection is marked down a little due to it being all McMenamins beers and only having 5 beers available. What was served was good, fresh but very middle of the road. Service was good, and friendly. An interesting place to visit. |
88 I love the atmosphere of this hotel. Very intriguing art and good lighting. Very good service and good beer. |
64 If you are ever in McMinnville Oregon this is a must stop. They took an old Hotel and made it into a palace. The same Ole McMenamins look with the decorations. The food and beer was the same as always. Service once again same as all others. Oregon hippies who can careless and they make you feel like nothing. Get the beer the food and after that look around and see a great old building that has some great art. I am amazed the brothers have such n empire. |
56 Nice place to hang out on the 5th floor, food is average and so is the beer. |
68 We stayed at the Hotel, and this was a fairly typical McMenamins pub, in both a positive and cautionary sense. The beers were what you’ve come to expect, clean and tasty; they’re not breaking new ground, but you can always rely on your favorites. There were some friendly and helpful servers, but as we’re seeing more and more at McMenamins establishments there were also perfunctory servers who figure it’s your job to come ask for a beer, their job to pour it and then they’re done - no warmth or welcome. Also, as usual it’s not the place to eat if you have somewhere to be; fortunately, we didn’t.
I’ve always been a McMenamins fan and Hotel Oregon doesn’t change that. I am concerned that perhaps the McMenamins chain is getting too long and they’re losing sight of the fundamentals of customer service; in that case, Trask Brewing down the street will be standing in line to eat McMenamins’ lunch. |
