68 From a certain perspective. despite the dramatic differences in look. if you’ve been to mellow mushroom you’ve been to them al. The pizza’s overdone with parmesan cheese and butter. There tend to be a lot of taps but not necessarily of good stuff. Often you get draft beer in frozen glasses. This one at least had a nice downtown location. |
82 nice funky mellow mushroom location. nice array of taps with quite a bit of local stuff. flights available. food was excellent. |
78 Has a gothic, faux-converted church feel. 32 mostly regional brews on tap with some national craft & BMC beers in bottles. Food is pretty decent. Worth a stop. |
76 Stopped in for a beer at this restaurant while visiting Greensboro. The interior of the restaurant was large and modern, but it also featured a nicer, quiet, small courtyard in the back with good ambiance. The service was friendly and attentive. They had a very good selection of beers on draft, including a solid local selection, as well as bottles. The beers were clearly marked by price, which were reasonable, but not outstanding. I did not try the food, but enjoyed my short visit overall. |
80 Very funky and lively place, interesting space. Large tap selection, good prices, good pizza. Worth a stop. |
88 Large place, open all the way to the roof, more like an old refurbidhed industrial facility. Small bar area and large dining area. Great tap selection, 32 plus nice selection of bottles as well. Do 4 oz samplers for $4. Great service, good music, great pizzas, will definately return. |
86 Originally reviewed: 1/6/10. Stopped here for a late lunch, sat at the bar. I like the look of this particular MM. Not as hippy-esque; definitely more modern-looking. The girl behind the bar was excellent. She really cared about beer, and knew alot about it. I could tell she loved quality brew by the way she talked. Ordered a Cold Mountain Winter Ale. Very good. Also had the jerked chicken hoagie. I am never disappointed with the food at this place. If it wasn’t for their lackluster service at most stores (excluding this one), this would be one of my favorite chains. They had a couple dozen craft brews on tap, including Brooklyn Black Choco Stout, and Foothills Seeing Double. I’m glad I stopped in. Great place. |
80 Brooke the beer-tender takes good care of us when we visit the ’Shroom. Always good to drop in early on a weekend afternoon for a flight of tasty brews before the Miller Lite idiots stampede in. Great selection. Knowledgeable staff.
Mighty Meaty Pizza + IPA (x 3) = Hoppiness. |
80 A cathedral to pizza, with huge stained glass windows, large eating area, and I assume, great pizza. They have a nice beer bar area with over 30 taps, and close to 50 different bottle selection. Agreat tap house in a pizza cathedral. |
88 Good pizza and quite a few beer selections. Very unique ambiance-- funky stained glass windows. |
