This used to be an excellent place to get beer. Not any more. Lousy selection. Go elsewhere.

No ambience, average service and prices, decent sammy’s, what makes this place unusual? As per the other reviews: the beer selection is phenomenal! One can find that rarest Dogfish Heads here, the most unusual imports, the finest PNW craft brews - stuff not to be had elsewhere in Tacoma. Exploring the beer refrigerators is worth the visit, but expect your wallet to be flatter when you leave.

Not really a beer store per say, but I will give these guys props... if you look deep into the nooks and crannys of their coolers you can find some damn fine beer! Don’t ask them what it is though, I don’t know who stocks the shelves but it aint the guys in the sandwich shop... maybe the distributors stock them with what they want?? who knows, still a cool amount of good beer in a sandwich shop!?!? BTW, great sandwiches!

This place is a handy addition to the beer scene in T-Town, and it really doesn’t get talked about enough. Walking in, it’s a cheapie convenience store with sandwiches setting, crappy little plastic tables and a deli counter across from the door. The buyer, though, seems to know his stuff, often picking up special releases that no other retailer in town can be bothered to snag. Consecration, for example. How did everyone else miss that? There are tons of coolers, and some of the bottles are pretty meaningless, but lots of them can range up into pretty special territory. The sandwiches are what made this place’s name, though. They’re legendary. Haven’t had them myself, but have known/heard about them for years.
